Wagra Dexter Cattle The Finest Dual Purpose Cow The Dexter breed originated in southwestern Ireland and then brought to England in 1882.

The breed virtually disappeared in Ireland, but was still maintained as a pure breed in a number of small herds in England. The Dexter is a small breed with mature cows weighing between 600–700 pounds (270–320 kg) and mature bulls weighing about 1,000 pounds (450 kg). Considering their small size, the body is wide and deep with a well-rounded hindquarters. Although commonly black, a variety of reds and dun Dexters are also found. All animals are always solid, with the now rare minor white marking on the udder or behind the navel. Horns are rather small and thick and grow outward with a forward curve on the male and upward on the cow. However we most commonly disbud the calves, and there are also polled Dexters. The breed is typically a dual-purpose type, although individual herd owners often concentrate on growing either a beef or a milk animal. General enquiries

About 5 acres all up. Edited to say that Meta has given this post an incorrect category. I prefer to label it "farming".

Thawing out in the sunshine after a sub-zero night, these mothers are not moving far from their fat 9mth old calves that are locked in the yards for weaning.

We hope you are all keeping cosy and well. With the weather about to get bleaker we are celebrating the shortest day of the year and checking in with our buyers to make sure we have plenty of roasts and casserole beef on hand for cooking up all those hearty winter comfort meals.
Slow cooked beef keeps everybody feeling happy and warm on the insides, and scrumptious winter cook-ups in the kitchen help to keep our living spaces warm and cosy as well🥰.
We never hear anybody up here in the hills complaining about “slaving over a hot stove” in the middle of winter😁.

Not fancy. Not pretty. Just the best kind of photo and comment from a first time beef buyer. His two words were short and to the point. He said, "Top Marks".
