Over the past year, Glenn and I have simply tried to do one thing well – serve honest, homely and affordable food to our community at Chomp Chomp.
During every school term, we prepare and serve two meal sessions a day for our wonderful students from Monday to Friday, then open our doors to the public for weekend brunch. In reality, that often means working seven days a week for up to ten weeks at a time – sometimes as many as 70 days straight without a day off.
Thanks to the incredible support of our customers and the wonderful Canning College community, Chomp Chomp has grown far beyond what we ever imagined. We are deeply humbled that many of our school meal services now sell out every session. Your support means the world to us.
After much thought, we have realised that to continue giving you the quality of food and service that you deserve, we also need to look after ourselves. Rather than wait until we are exhausted, we have made the difficult decision to pause our Saturday public trading for this school term.
From 1 August 2026, Chomp Chomp will be open to the public only on Sundays and Public Holidays, from 10:00am to 2:30pm.
This extra day will not be a day of rest. It will allow us the time to prepare, cook and organise ourselves so that we can continue serving fresh, homemade food to both our students during the week and our Sunday customers with the care and quality you have come to expect.
We are hopeful that, with a little time to recharge, we will be able to resume both Saturday and Sunday public trading at the beginning of Term 4.
Thank you for your kindness, your patience and your unwavering support. Every meal you enjoy, every encouraging word and every familiar face that walks through our doors reminds us why we started this journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing Glenn and me to be a small part of your lives. We look forward to welcoming you every Sunday and sharing many more meals together.
With gratitude,
Glenn & Kenneth
