Alice the Celebrant

Alice the Celebrant Contemporary, compassionate, inclusive and easy-going civil marriage celebrant and funeral celebrant And you’re getting married! Taking the vow! Tying the knot!

ALICE WILLIAMS - REGISTERED CIVIL MARRIAGE CELEBRANT, BERMAGUI, NSW

I’m Alice the Celebrant. This is all very exciting. For such a special occasion, it's only natural that you want to celebrate in the way that is most meaningful, memorable and unique to you and your relationship. Choosing a civil celebrant gives you the freedom to do just that, by allowing you to design a ceremony that is the bes

t reflection of your unique partnership and yourselves as individuals. As a CMC, it’s my job to guide you through this process, and work with you to create and officiate over a personalised ceremony that is professional, poignant, stress-free, fun and - most importantly- all about you. OTHER CEREMONIES
Aside from civil marriage ceremonies, I also perform the following:

COMMITMENT CEREMONIES
Marriage isn’t the only way to celebrate and solemnise your relationship with your partner. Together we can design the perfect commitment ceremony to celebrate your love and dedication to your relationship with honour and significance. VOW RENEWAL CEREMONIES
Vow renewal ceremonies are a great opportunity for couples to reaffirm promises, celebrate ongoing love and dedication, and commit more fully to their relationships. NAMING CEREMONIES
Naming ceremonies are a wonderful way to welcome new little folk into family and community, and can be a profound commemoration of parents' love and commitment to their child. ABOUT ALICE THE CELEBRANT
I’ve been a celebrant for eight years and I really love it. I’m also a writer and performer, which helps me create unique, personal and authentic ceremonies and deliver with them with ease and feeling. I enjoy working closely with people to make sure they’re involved in the creation of their ceremony every step of the way. I also find it extremely rewarding to be able to support and hold space for people when it matters the most. If you're looking for an easy-going, creative and contemporary celebrant for your occasion, I'd love to hear from you. CONTACT

Hi all. Sorry to have been so quiet for so long! Allow me to compensate with a huge post...

In the last few years I began shifting my focus from weddings to funerals. It’s been incredibly rewarding and I feel honoured as a funeral celebrant to be able to provide this kind of support to family and friends during such an extremely difficult time.

Farewelling a loved one is a different and challenging experience for everyone. Your celebrant is there to help you create the best tribute possible and guide you through the funeral process. Please see the Funeral Services page of my website for information about a civil celebrant's role in creating and supporting you through a service, links and information about the funeral process, and the people and organisations that can help you understand the options that are available to you.

Hi everybody. I've been taking a little time off the weddings over the last year or so, but I wanted to share this one with you...

It was such a pleasure marrying Amanda and Jo at Circa 1876 in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley earlier this year. It was a total thrill to officiate my first same-sex wedding, and I’d married Amanda’s sister Mel to her husband Matt the year before, which made it all the more special. Jo and Amanda, as evidenced by these pictures, were equally delighted and delightful.

Such a great day. Congrats to Amanda and Jo. Pics taken by the very clever Candice Campbell Photography xx

I'm so pleased for everyone in Australia after yesterday's passing of the same-sex marriage legislation, because we can all only benefit from living in societies that are more inclusive and progressive and better value social equality and human rights, even if it is a slow and ongoing process. I'm particularly happy for the people and couples who have waited so long to be included in one of our most deeply embedded and fundamental social rituals/institutions. Welcome, you guys. Love to you all ###xx

Hello my lovelies. Hope you are all well.

Just popping my head up to share an article about the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey that's about to take place starting next month.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality. I've seen a lot of seriously in-love couples in my time and I'm here to tell you that sexuality/gender hasn't made one bit of difference to the quality and integrity of the love involved in these relationships. Not even a little bit. Not one jot. I'm bummed marriage equality is taking this long in Australia and that this vote isn't even officially assured to make a difference, but it is an opportunity to make our voices heard and it's important that we do. This article contains pretty much all you need to know about the vote.

Also, today is actually the last day to enrol or update your details in order to participate in the vote. You can do that here until midnight.

'Alice, Delaney and I are so happy that you married us on Saturday in such a beautiful, intimate and loving ceremony. It was perfect in every way. I have never felt so calm, yet so full of joy like I was on my wedding day and that is partly thanks to your preparation with us and your confidence on the day. Our ceremony was so personal, down to earth and written beautifully by you and the gratitude I feel writing this brings tears to my eyes.'

'Alice, thank you so much for being part of our wedding celebrations, you made a somewhat daunting process easy and stress free. You heard and understood all of our requests and made sure our ceremony was true to us. We had so many friends and family come and congratulate and compliment us on the ceremony, many of them thinking you were a long time friend because of how comfortable we were in your presence. I can't thank you enough for making our ceremony the most memorable part of our day!'

Was such a pleasure to marry Ness and Nils. We held the ceremony in the stunning Otways National Park, just behind the Big 4 Holiday Park in Wye River where Ness, Nils and their guests were staying. The ceremony was intimate, relaxed, heartfelt, and fun. And have you ever been on one of those huge Big 4 bouncing pillows? I gotta get me one. Loved Ness and Nils’ life-sized picture frame idea as well!

Katherine and Paul were married in the Beautiful Castlemaine Botanic Gardens. It was a great day, with friends, family, music and laughter. The groom and groomsmen strutted down the aisle to Eye of the Tiger, played on cello! It was awesome.
