We can’t thank our amazing clients enough for the support they showed our breeding program last Friday.

We sold 66 bulls at our 6th annual sale, at an average of $11,008. Lot 22 Thomsons Tank W21 was purchased by Proudford Agricultural Company for $17,500.
Lot 23 Thomsons Tank W71 was purchased by Aberfeldy Pastoral Co for $16,500.
Our volume buyers for the day were Street Pastoral and Coolmore Australia, both purchasing 5 bulls.

Lot 1 Shacorrahdalu 38 Special V552 sells Friday 21st August.

There’s a fair bit to like about this bull, he’s got all the muscle, power and grunt you could want.

He is d***y quite with excellent structure and all-round performance. He’s a really well balanced bull with a strong head, top line and hind quarter, and moves around so freely.

We’ve used him naturally over all of our stud heifers this Autumn and a mob of mixed stud heifers and cows last Spring.

Lot 8 Thomsons Tasmania W33 sells Friday 21st August.

W33 has some serious sire appeal. He has been the standout since weaning and sits head and shoulders above the rest.

Tasmania has combined really well here with U1, a donor heifer out of Quinella. We like this cross so much that we have kept the flush brother W31 for stud duties and AI.

W33 has incredible performance when it comes to growth, carcase weight and marbling. He will really appeal to those looking to capitalise on quality premiums in the marketplace.

He’s also just a serious bull, the head, neck and shoulders on this bull are very attractive.

Lot 6 Shacorrahdalu Quinella V546 sells Friday 21st August.

An embryo calf by one of our favourite donors in S17. We would describe S17 as one of the most incredibly sound females that we have come across. She’s a big cow with exceptional feet and a track record of sale topping sons and daughters entering the donor pen.

V546 is a big thick deep and wide bull that offers some serious growth potential in the top 5% of the breed and backs it up with high carcase weight and EMA.

Importantly, he is still below average for BWT and his mature cow weight is below his 400-day weight, leading to some impressive curve-bending ratios.

We love the head and topline of this bull and we feel really confident when we have that S17 in the pedigree.

We absolutely love the shape of this bull. He’s a moderate, easy-doing type that is thick and deep. Awesome muscle expression and a top line you could sleep on.

Sired by homebred bull Tank, he has his sires low birth weight, moderate mature cow weight, big EMA and excellent docility and claw set.

Lots 1 and 2 have returned!

Just in time, with 2 weeks until sale day. These boys have completed 2 cycles backing up our stud Autumn cows and heifers. They’ve been comprehensively checked over for any issues and are ready to go!

They’ve settled back into our group of 7 2-year-old bulls wonderfully and eagerly await your inspection on Friday 21st August.

Shane and Mark covered pretty much everything in cattle reproduction, including bull soundness, AI, ET, IVF, how to improve pregnancy rates in beef herds, what a pre-breeding bull soundness evaluation consists of, how to prevent pestivirus and other reproductive diseases, when IVF makes more sense than conventional ET and how to best manage your sexual athletes! 🐮
