🤍 5.5 days of shearing white animals done! 🤍

With two shearers Shorn By Shaun and Dunbars Run Alpacas - (2.5 days) after five and a half days we’ve made a good dent in the white herd - they are finished. Now it’s time to move onto the colours!

It’s tiring work, but we love it. Shearing isn’t just about the fibre — it’s also about the laughs and the good people we have around - Christie Hayward and Maureen Bates

The backs and legs are a bit sore, the days are long, but the end of day beers are cold - we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Bring on the colours! 🤎🖤🦙

Memories training our working puppies to crouch and hold - none went on to be working dogs but they are obedient smart pets - well mostly Patti has trouble spelling anything more than Pug.

Spring has sprung! 🌱🌱

Today was day 1 of our spring 2026 mating season! This morning saw us classing up 200 girls that will all (hopefully!) be pregnant by the end of the November. Easing the boys into joining season with their first round of pen matings. A grand effort on our part with 15,000 steps walked in and around the shed - every effort has sure been made to ensure the boys are able to sustainably breed for the duration of the season.

Hopefully this time next year our efforts have all paid off!

These two boys are just so exciting!😍😍

Suris! They are an incredible camelid and something we are so passionate about here at Storybook and Suri Alliance. With these two young boys out of our incredible history generating male KURRAWA Man of the Moment… there’s a lot to be passionate about. Both of these boys have also come out of our highest quality females. One from SURILANA Jannine (a pervious Australian National Supreme Champion Suri) and KURRAWA CS Mystery N Magic (multiple winner of Sydney Royal Grand Champion Female). We can’t wait to show off these boys next show season!
