Honouring the Late John Milne.
It is both a privilege and an honour to officially recognise the late John Milne as a Life Member of the Berry Show Society.

Like so many in our community, we were deeply saddened by John's recent passing. While we miss him greatly, we will continue to celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind and the countless contributions he made to the Berry Show Society and the wider Berry community.

We were fortunate that several members of the Show Society Executive were able to visit John at David Berry Hospital and present this award to him in the presence of his family. It was a special moment and one that we will always cherish.

John's dedication, generosity and unwavering support of the Berry Show over many years helped shape the event we know and love today. We are forever grateful for his service and friendship.

A special thank you to his wife Christine Milne, who graciously accepted John's Life Membership Award on his behalf at our recent AGM.

John's contribution to the Berry Show Society will not be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Recognising Outstanding Service to the Berry Show Society.

At the recent Berry Show Society AGM, we had the pleasure of presenting a number of special awards to recognise the dedication, commitment and generosity of some remarkable members of our community.

🏅 President’s Award Medal
Ken Mitchell was awarded the President’s Award Medal in recognition of his 40+ years of service to the Berry Show Society. Alongside his wife, Ken and Theresa have been long-serving Chief Goat Steward and Assistant Steward, and both have contributed countless hours to the success of the Show over many years.

⭐ Life Membership Awards
Life Membership was awarded to:
• Michael Claydon – for his many years of dedication as Chief Woodchop Steward.
• Geoff O'Dwyer – for his extensive service on the Show Committee and as a former President of the Society.
• The late John Milne – accepted by his wife Christine Milne, in recognition of John's unwavering commitment and support of the Berry Show Society.

👏 Honorary Membership & Appreciation Certificate
Michael Brennan received an Honorary Membership and Appreciation Certificate for his past and ongoing support of the Society. Michael has served as the Returning Officer at our AGM for many years, and this year marked his final AGM in that role.

🌸 Special Thanks Award
Our 2026 Berry Show Young Woman, Jasmine Shirlaw, was presented with a Special Thanks Award following her address to members about her experiences over the past year representing Berry and our community.

To all our award recipients, and to every member of the Berry Show Society, congratulations and thank you. The Berry Show is built on the passion, dedication and volunteer spirit of people like you, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.

Notice of Berry Show Society AGM 2026.
The Berry Show Society AGM will be held on Tuesday 26 th of May at the Presbyterian Church Hall. 7.00pm for 7.30pm.
Supper will be provided.

All current financial members have the opportunity to attend and vote at this meeting. If you are unsure if your membership is current, please email the secretary at [email protected]

Notice of a SPECIAL MEETING of Berry Show Society Members.
At the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting, a Special Meeting of Berry Show Society members will be held.

All members are encouraged to attend this brief meeting to vote on a special resolution to amend the Berry Show Inc. Constitution in order for this amendment to be legally incorporated into the Constitution. Please note that you must be a financial member to attend and vote at this meeting.

The Berry Show Society is seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of Chief Horse Steward, along with additional Horse Committee Members.

If you’re an experienced horse person - or know someone who is - and have the knowledge, leadership, teamwork skills and understanding required to help oversee our Horse Section, we would love to hear from you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the Berry Show’s most important and well-loved sections, while contributing to a much-valued community event.

📸✨ Behind the Lens at the Berry Show ✨📸
So many people have commented on the incredible photography and moments captured from this year’s Berry Show — and we have two very talented men to thank for that: Andy Hutchinson Photography and Richard Gibson.

From before the gates opened to long after the fireworks sparkled, Andy and Richard wandered the Showground capturing the sights, sounds and special moments that make our Show so unique and so deeply loved by our community.

Thanks to their dedication, we’ve been able to share the Berry Show far and wide — and we now have a truly beautiful archive of images to treasure from the 138th Berry Show.

We thank them sincerely for their talent, generosity with their time… and yes, the quality of this photo alone proves exactly why we need them behind the camera! 😂👏
