Every morning I walk the same path between the pigs and one of the chicken pens. Today I walked up and fed the chickens and then decided to walk back the same way…..I normally do a circuit type track. And look what is right on the path I walk EVERYDAY!! A beautiful Giant Golden Orb Spider female and her boyfriend 💕 if you know me I am vertically challenged but Craig isn’t so I will have to put a sign up so he doesn’t walk into her web. She is larger than my hand so I am sure it would be a day ruining moment if he got her stuck on his face 🤪🤪🤪

Does anyone local want some fresh Soursop seed. It is not frost tolerant and loses it leaves at 5 degrees. I think frost may kill it. Ours survive sheltered in our Syntropic rows. Bears in about 3 years from sowing (as long as you donmt get too many cold snaps hahaha)

Billy Blackjack is such a lovely old boar. He is purebred Large Black. The Blackjack boar line is one of only two Large Black boar lines left in Australia. It is also the rarer bloodline with Blackjack boars hard to find. The Large Black breed is critically endangered which is such a shame because they are amazing mothers and very easy to handle. Although they are a lard pig, if processed around about 60kgs liveweight they are excellent eating pigs with beautiful buttery fat and soft, flavorful meat. They are suited to free range and can actually grow well on good pasture with a small amount of grain but they need to be rotated regularly. They are a large breed and even sows can get close to 300kg at maturity. We love ours 💕
