A great range of Gourmet and Artisan Foods all located in our amazing boutique in Little Market Co, 50 Kariboe Street, Biloela Qld. My family was full of awesome cooks and home bakers. We had favourites baked in every household. No matter where we went, there was good, homebaked food! And we all loved sweets! I inherited my Mum's sweet tooth, much to my bum's dismay :( When I decided to share my
hobby with others, I wasn't sure what to name my little venture. 'The Fudge Lady' just didn't cut it for me and there are so many other yummy things to explore other than just fudge! When I was a little girl growing up, my Papa, who had a Scottish heritage, would often tell us stories and riddles. My favourite one was,
'Come a riddle, come a riddle, come a rut tut tut. A wee, wee man with a red, red coat
A staff in his hand and a stone in his throat,
Come a riddle, come a riddle, come a rut tut tut!'
We had to work out the riddle and of course - it was a red cherry! Red Cherry Kitchen is a tribute to my family. Many of the recipes I use are from my great-grandmothers kitchen, including the Russian Caramel! My great uncle George taught me to make the fudge when I was about 11 years old. So, that said, whether its fudge, melting moments or cakes, lots of love go into all the yummies at red cherry kitchen! I love what I do - Enjoy!
