Egg-citing times! After watching the postie spend a week driving our new labels past our front gate four times, they finally made it to the farm 😂
We’re excited to start rolling out our newly redesigned labels! To make things even easier, the labels are now colour coded by size so you can quickly spot your favourite eggs at a glance! Thanks to Guru Labels for all the hard work on the redesign!

Today we’re proudly wearing blue for Do It For Dolly Day 💙
A reminder to always choose kindness, check in on your mates, and remember that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference.
From all of us at Blue Sky Heritage Eggs — be kind, always 🫶🐓

How much do we love chickens? Some might say… a little too much 😂 And unfortunately, that obsession has definitely rubbed off on our kids!

We’ve had quite a few new followers join us recently, so we thought it was a good time to reintroduce ourselves—especially after celebrating our birthday 🎉
I’m Jemma, and I run Blue Sky Heritage Eggs alongside my husband, Matt. We’re lucky to have my mum helping out, plus an incredible team of three amazing ladies we truly couldn’t do this without.
Life is definitely busy—outside of the farm, I work as a Safety Consultant and Site Senior Executive in the mining and exploration sector, while Matt works as an electrician in mining too. Then there are our three beautiful daughters, who love spending time on the farm… although they’re far more interested in cuddling chickens and patting dogs than collecting eggs 😂
We like to think they’re part of our hens’ Employee Assistance Program—providing plenty of love, cuddles, and emotional support to the girls 😉
With no background in egg farming, this has been a huge leap for us—but one we’ve absolutely loved. It’s brought us closer to our community, introduced us to so many wonderful people, and given us the opportunity to support locals through egg donations. It’s been more rewarding than we ever imagined.
As we ramp back up to full production over the coming months, we hope you get the chance to find our eggs and give them a try if you haven’t already 💛

🎉🥚 We’ve turned TWO! 🥚🎉
What a whirlwind these past couple of years have been! Technically Blue Sky Heritage Eggs is actually 11 years old 😮 but the first 9 years were run by another beautiful CQ family.
From day one to now, our journey into egg farming has been full of learning curves, early mornings, a few hiccups… and a whole lot of laughs along the way.
With a bit more experience under our belts (and plenty more still to learn!), we can honestly say we’ve had an absolute blast doing what we do.
We’re so incredibly grateful to our amazing customers and stockists for sticking by us, supporting us, and showing patience as we’ve grown. You’ve made this journey not just possible, but genuinely enjoyable 💛
Here’s to the next chapter… and plenty more eggs to come! 🐓🥚

Stella is all smiles this afternoon because we are finally authorised to sell eggs! We need to organise ourselves tomorrow and then we will be right to start selling this weekend and confirming stockists 🙌 🍳

Well, the medium egg trays are selling so well that Richo Road Butchery also has some in stock! If you have a family or just really love a good egg, head on in and grab yourself a tray of our tasty eggs 🍳

🐓 Pullet Eggs have landed at Emu Park Meats!
We dropped off some trays of our tasty little pullet eggs (30-egg trays) yesterday, so pop in and grab some while they’re there!
Pullet eggs — sometimes called medium eggs — are the first eggs our young girls lay when they start producing. They’re a little smaller than our large eggs (see photo: pullet on the left, large on the right), but they really pack a punch.
They’ve got:
🥚 A lovely hard shell
🥚 A higher yolk-to-white ratio
🥚 A richer, creamier flavour
They’re also the perfect size for hard-boiling for kids’ lunches 🤤
Small egg, big flavour!

Here is a shameless request for reviews 😂 if you’ve tried our eggs and enjoyed them (or not, all feedback is constructive feedback!) we would LOVE if you could leave a review on our page. So far we have 13, but only one of those has been since we started running the business 😂 In exchange, I’ll share this cool picture of some emu’s that we saw on the farm…. Matt’s still deciding if they’re planning a hostile takeover for feed, or if we should expect eggs from them and add them to the payroll 😉

I should have known better than to wear shoes with laces 😂
laces = 🪱 and make egg collecting take twice as long as it should because your shoes get untied every 20 seconds 🤦‍♀️

Had a busy day at work and thought I’d go to the farm for some alone time 😂 Apparently the girls didn’t get the memo because I didn’t get a moments peace the entire time
