🎉 HELLO MERREDIN! 🎉

This one feels a little bit special. ❤️

Back in 2024, when we travelled to Merredin for the Wheatbelt Business Awards, we remember looking at Merredin Harvest Fresh Food Market and thinking, “We’d love to see The Food Files products in there one day.” It aligns with our feeding the Wheatbelt philosophy and funny enough they had a power outage (typical occurrence in our small towns) on that day and we were unable to poke our heads in and have a look.

Well… today it has come full circle. 🥰

We’re very excited to officially welcome Merredin Harvest Fresh Food Market as the newest stockist of The Food Files!

From this week, you’ll be able to find a selection of our handcrafted products right there in Merredin — another wonderful step further into the Wheatbelt for our little Bindoon business. 🌾

A huge thank you to the team at Merredin Harvest Fresh for giving our products a place in store, and to everyone who continues to support locally made WA products and small family businesses like ours.

It’s pretty special when something you quietly had in your sights a couple of years ago suddenly becomes reality. ❤️

Come up and see us today for the Taste of Chittering. We have packs of snags, the Artisan Pack, our Beef and Australian Black Lime sausages Australian Black Limes and The Local Larder of Bindoon will be cooking up a storm with samples of our Boerewors. See you there!!!!

🔪 WE’RE HIRING – APPRENTICE BUTCHER

We’re looking for the right person to join our small team at The Food Files in Bindoon and learn the butcher trade from the ground up.

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday apprenticeship, starting November 2026, with genuine hands-on training in traditional and artisan butchery, sausage making, smoking, curing and specialty meat production.

No previous experience needed — we’re looking for someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn.

I know you shouldn’t drink your own bath water but we do eat our own Boerewors the fat rendering on the coals gives the Boerewors a beautiful flavour. How do you enjoy yours ?

Over the weekend we had these delicious and tender lamb rumps . The fat is trimmed completely off . We then made a mix of herbs and garlic to put on top finally roasting them in the oven . They don’t take long so for an easy healthy roast these are a great choice . These are available to order so if you haven’t tried them yet do yourself a favour .
