Breaking her maiden in convincing fashion today (7/7) was Rotating Soul (SOUL PATCH x CAROUSEL QUEEN) on the Pakenham Synthetic over 2200m. Ridden patiently for the first half of race, she peeled out on the turn to make her run and not get boxed in. The only horse that made ground on her was one from the back in the closing stages, but Rotating Soul held on by a length. A well deserved win for this girl, congratulations. Purler Patch (Soul Patch x Zapurler) brings up his 2nd win today (19/6) at Moe. Back up to 1600m and 2nd up from a freshen, he chased the leader for the entire race final getting to him in the last 100m, and winning by 3/4 od a length. Congratulations to all involved with Art 'N' Soul (3yo, Soul Patch x Hot Art), WINNER, breaking his maiden today (4/5) at Sale over 1728m. Sweeping wide on the turn, he made up heaps of ground to poke his head out to WIN by half a head. Congratulations to all involved, especially the Keys family who bred, train and part-own the newest WINNER for Soul Patch.

This was so, so close. Rotating Soul (x Carousel Queen) failed by a whisker to fight back and win the opening race at Mornington on 28th April over 2000m. Taking up a front running role, she was headed in the straight but found that 2nd wind to just fail on the line. Next time. Replay:

Have a look at Ali Foreman (Soul Patch x My Thriller) in race 4 at Balaklava on Friday (25th April). At his 2nd race start, jumped well from barrier 1 but was run off his feet dropping well back. Cut the corner for the run home and then see him power to the line to finish 2nd. Great result and a sign of better runs to come. Replay:

Surf Soul (SOUL PATCH from SAV ROYAL (NZ)) made his debut today in race 2 at Benalla. Taken back from the wide barrier he made up a lot of ground in the straight to finish 4th. Will take some good education from the run.
