Did you know that all of our grapes are hand picked?
That's right, when it comes to grape picking time, it's all hands on deck. Hand picking grapes is labour intensive, expensive and a slower method of harvesting grapes, however there are some key advantages and we think that you can absolutely taste the difference!
Hand harvesting is much more gentle on the fruit, especially when picking fragile grape varieties. The bunches are picked intact and undamaged. Certain styles of wine benefit from whole bunch pressing at the winery. Hand picking also allows the us to individually select healthy fruit bunches– leaving rotten or un-ripe bunches behind.
