MIA CUCINA x SFB EP 4: THE PERFECT FINALE 🍕🇮🇹

We've made it to the final episode of our four-part series with Mel from Mia Cucina Food Tours and Maps, and we're wrapping things up with a taste of Italy in Edensor Park.

From wood-fired pizzas to pillowy gnocchi in creamy vodka sauce, La Vita was the perfect way to finish the trail. What really stood out though was the value. With 50% off weekly specials every Tuesday and Wednesday, plus their midweek deal of any two pizzas or any two pastas for $32 ordered through their website, it's the kind of place that makes eating out with family or friends feel affordable again.

Over these four episodes, we've travelled through Iraqi, Vietnamese and Italian food without ever leaving Fairfield City. That's what makes this area so special ... every suburb has another story, another culture and another incredible meal waiting to be discovered.

MIA CUCINA x SFB EP 3: CABRAMATTA'S HIDDEN VIETNAMESE GEM 🇻🇳

Episode 3 of our four-part series with Mel from Mia Cucina Food Tours takes us to Cabramatta for a dish that deserves way more attention than it gets. Everyone knows pho and bánh mì... but today we're trying something completely different.

Bánh Cuốn might not be the first thing you order at a Vietnamese restaurant, but it probably should be. Delicate steamed rice rolls wrapped around a savoury filling, topped with crispy fried shallots and served with a dipping sauce that ties it all together. We also tried the grilled pork wrapped in betel leaf, which brought a smoky flavour that paired perfectly with the lighter rice rolls. This is exactly why we love exploring places like Cabramatta — there's always another dish waiting to be discovered.

MIA CUCINA x SFB EP 2: SYDNEY’S CHEAPEST SANDWICH? 🌯

Welcome back to Episode 2 of our four-part series with Mel from Mia Cucina Food Tours and Maps. This time, we’re staying in Iraq... but swapping breakfast for what might be one of the best-value lunches in Sydney.

This falafel sandwich has been our go-to for years. Fresh Iraqi samoon, crispy falafel fried to order, salad, pickles and sauces... all for just $6. And if you want to add eggplant and potato to it, it’s $7. And don’t skip the amba. That tangy pickled mango sauce completely changes the sandwich and instantly takes us back to our childhood. It’s one of those flavours every Iraqi grows up with.

MIA CUCINA x SFB EP 2: SYDNEY'S BEST $7 LUNCH 🌯

Welcome back to Episode 2 of our four-part series with the boys from Sydney Food Brothers. This time, we're staying in Iraq... but swapping breakfast for what might be one of the best-value lunches in Sydney.

This falafel sandwich has been our go-to for years. Fresh Iraqi samoon, crispy falafel fried to order, salad, pickles and sauces... all for just $7. But if you're ordering it the Iraqi way, don't skip the amba. That tangy pickled mango sauce completely changes the sandwich and instantly takes us back to our childhood. It's one of those flavours every Iraqi grows up with.

MIA CUCINA x SFB EP 1: TRADITIONAL IRAQI BREKKY 🇮🇶

Welcome to Episode 1 of our four-part series with Mel from Mia Cucina Food Tours, where we’re exploring some of Fairfield City’s best winter food spots. We couldn’t think of a better place to start than with our own roots.

A lot of people know us as the Sydney Food Brothers, but not everyone knows our family is Iraqi. Our parents were born in Mosul, so walking into feels like a taste of home. We shared their Breakfast Platter for 4, but the real standout for us is always the Kahi and Geymar. Flaky, buttery pastry topped with rich buffalo milk cream and a drizzle of syrup... it’s one of Iraq’s most iconic breakfasts and one we’ve been eating since we were kids.
