SKT is a family business run by Sharron & George Taylor and was established in 1990, with the next generation Sarah proudly returning home to join us& carry on the tradition. Born from the need to source high quality gear for our own beef cattle enterprise we know what's expected of our gear in the often harsh environment in which it it used. We understand what it takes to create the highest quality article and use this knowledge to select the very best Australian hides, then craft each item in the traditional manner to exacting standards, encompassing the true spirit of the Australian bush.

We’ve finished up repairs to this Dennis Jackson Stock Saddle with a new seat and girth points, as well as making the Bridle and Breastplate set, number holder and a Shaped and Padded Girth to match

A Sidesaddle stirrup leather and balance strap, custom made for a lady riding aside in regional NSW.

All Sidesaddle are usually fitted with one of these special balance straps or balance girths, or a girth that incorporates this, to add extra stability when riding aside.

Sharron has a particular interest in Sidesaddles and their history and over the years has made plenty of accessories for these; she’s is just about to begin yet another restoration of an antique sidesaddle so stay tuned for pictures of this restoration too!

A customers new saddle recently in the workshop, as her fenders were giving her trouble to ride in! We’ve added a ‘Nevada Twist’ to her fenders for her, which is a permanent turn and wrap to help ensure that your stirrups lay in a good riding position. You can see this wrap on the fender, just above the stirrup.

If you find that riding in a fender or western saddle puts pressure on your hips, knees or ankles, having this done to your fenders may help!
