One of our favourite little spots Moingup Springs has recently been refurbished and reopened. Lots of great childhood memories here! Highly recommend for a picnic lunch or a sunset drink.

When you’re feeling the need for space and solitude, Yardup Shearers Quarters will give you that - with the only company being a sky full of stars in the southern night sky.

We’re delighted to support Endometriosis Western Australia by donating a two-night stay at Yardup Cottage for the 2025 Endometriosis Borden Gala Fundraiser, taking place this Saturday at the Borden Pavilion

A big thank you to Gnowangerup local Rachael Lamont for the passionate work she’s doing as an Endometriosis WA Regional Volunteer.

And many thanks to Carl and the team at Albany Printers for printing these cards that will be placed at each table setting for the Gala tomorrow.

If you’re attending, we encourage you to get involved, show your support, and help make a difference for those affected by endometriosis.

Yardup Cottage has been welcoming guests for over 30 years, and with time comes a certain lived-in ‘character’ you could call it, for want of a better word! We don’t mind the little lifelines here and there, the cracks & gaps, the slightly uneven floors - as long as everything is clean and tidy, we see them as part of the story and the life of this little cottage.
The kettle may be a little seasoned, but it still makes a fine cuppa. The bathroom may have seen a few decades, but it works just as it should - and the soft rainwater is worth more than a dozen shiny new taps.
Staying at Yardup is not about brand new or on trend but about trying to be mindful of the ever increasing consumerism we all get caught up in, and trying to keep our own environmental footprint to a minimum.
Our hope is that you will feel at home here - surrounded by a sense of calm, comfort, and the wonky charm of a cottage with its own story to tell.

Some treasures recently found at Yardup - mainly glass bottles & jars. Does anyone remember what those small bottles were used for? They seem to have screw tops, so they probably aren’t that old - but there are plenty of them here! Also spotted a few other goodies: Yardup-fired bricks from Brick Kiln Paddock, a delightful mustard candlestick holder we wish was still intact, and a couple of auld Australian Ag audio cassettes👌🏽

This is such a busy time for us at Yardup, as it is for all the farming families around our area. With harvest drawing to a close, it’s been great to give the Cottage a little spruce up - made even better with an extra pair of hands. Huge thanks to Jimmy for jumping in and helping us get everything shipshape for the New Year! 🙌🏼

As you can see in photo no. 5, we had a visit from a tiger snake yesterday too. Snakes are a great sign of a healthy environment (anyone who’s stayed here knows we have an absolute abundance of frogs and reptiles!). They’re part of living in a natural setting, but it’s also a good reminder to stay vigilant this time of year.

As we’ve mentioned, we’re taking a little break from bookings over Christmas. We’re looking forward to a few days in Bremer and at our beach house in Albany - much needed - before gearing up again come January! We can’t wait to welcome you all back to Yardup then.

Yardup Farm is over 100 years old and has been home to 5 generations of Milnes. With spectacular views of the Stirling Range and the wide open spaces of broad acre grain and sheep farming, we live in a wonderful part of the the world and we love to share it with guests from all over the world. The Shearers Quarters are more contemporary and are beaut for groups of up to 12 who want to get out and about and enjoy the outdoors with some home comforts!
