We absolutely love having the Social Support group from the Centre for Participation visit us in Dimboola!

At Blue Lake Milling, we know our business is only as strong as the communities we operate in. It was a pleasure to open our doors and show everyone how we process our local oats.

Our Social Support group recently enjoyed a tour of Blue Lake Milling, learning more about one of our region's important local businesses and catching up over a morning together.

Experiences like these are about much more than getting out of the house—they create opportunities to connect, learn something new, and enjoy good company.

We are currently looking for a reliable and detail-focussed Sanitation & Facility Cleaner to join our Production Team at Blue Lake Milling.

What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out routine cleaning and sanitation of production areas, machinery, and common spaces.
- Helping us maintain our world-class food safety, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Spotting and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to keep our team safe.

What we’re looking for:
- A strong work ethic and great attention to detail.
- Reliability and a commitment to safety and hygiene procedures.
- Previous cleaning or food manufacturing experience is a bonus, but a positive attitude is a must!

1. Grain Operations Officer
The Role: A hands-on position focused on the frontline of grain receival. You’ll be operating JCB loaders and tractor-auger combos, sampling incoming grain, and ensuring our high quality and safety standards are met every day.
Ideal for: Someone mechanically minded with a valid forklift license who takes pride in a clean, efficient workspace and enjoys working outdoors.

2. Procurement Officer
The Role: A key position focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with our growers and transport partners. You’ll manage contracts, coordinate logistics, and ensure we are sourcing the best quality grain to meet our production needs.
Ideal for: A great communicator with strong organisational skills, who understands the value of trust and transparency in the agricultural supply chain.

What a great week at Gulfood, Dubai!

This was Blue Lake Milling’s first time exploring the region as a potential market for oats, and interest in both retail and bulk formats was above expectations. As one of the largest trade shows globally, Gulfood delivered both in size and the number of valuable contacts made over the five days. 🇦🇪🥣

Fudgy Baked Oat Brownies 🍫🤎
Wholesome, rich, and made with Blue Lake Milling oats — the perfect healthier sweet treat.

Ingredients
• 1 cup Blue Lake Milling Rolled Oats
• 1 cup Blue Lake Milling Quick Oats
• ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• Pinch of salt
• 3–4 tbsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)
• 4 tbsp peanut or almond butter (optional)
• 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 6 tbsp chocolate chips (+ extra on top)

Method
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 180°C and line a small tray
2️⃣ Mix milk, egg, nut butter, maple syrup & vanilla
3️⃣ Add oats, cocoa, baking powder & salt
4️⃣ Fold through chocolate chips
5️⃣ Pour into tray, smooth top & sprinkle extra choc
6️⃣ Bake 25–30 mins until just set and fudgy
7️⃣ Cool slightly, slice & enjoy

✨ Serve warm or at room temp — drizzle with peanut butter, yogurt or extra maple syrup if you’re feeling fancy.
