Bowden Cellars Wine Bar | Bottle Shop | Kitchen
Our drinks list & bottle shop highlight small-batch and boutique South Australian beverage producers.

Bowden Cellars, located within Plant 3—sister venue to Plant 4—is a celebration of South Australia’s finest small-batch producers. Part bar, part bottle shop, part kitchen, it’s a place where every sip tells a story, and every bottle reflects the care, creativity, and personality of its maker. The journey began with the Adelaide Wine Markets at The Market Shed on Holland, where Bowden Cellars’ founders shared their love for local wines, spirits, beers, and ciders with the community. The experience revealed just how much passion and skill goes into small-scale production, and how vital it is to support these artisans who craft every drop with intention. South Australia produces more than half of Australia’s premium wine, making it a hub of quality and innovation—and yet it’s the small-batch producers who truly define the state’s character and flavour. Bowden Cellars was born to celebrate them: to champion their craft, share their stories, and give locals and visitors alike a place to explore, discover, and connect with the very best South Australia has to offer. Setting up shop in the exciting and fast-growing suburb of Bowden resulted in a space that’s more than a bar or bottle shop—it’s a community, a place to gather, and a home for small-batch excellence.

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm

If you caught Barritt Vineyards at Reds in the Shed , you’ll know exactly why we wanted to get them into Bowden Cellars. And if you missed them, this Friday is your chance to fix that.

The Barritt family have been growing grapes in the Barossa Valley since the 1850s, making them one of the region’s true sixth generation farming families. Their vineyards are at the absolute core of everything they do, and that shows in the glass. Small parcels, carefully tended, with a range that sits beautifully between modern and traditional Barossa styles.
These are w**es with real history behind them, made by a family who genuinely loves what they do and where they do it.
The Barritt team will be in from 5 to pour and chat through the range. 🍷

This is what small, independent, South Australian w**e looks like. Real families, real vineyards, and w**es worth seeking out. ♥️

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm

This Friday we’re joined by Pare W**es, and their approach is one we have a lot of respect for.

Pare was built around a single idea: pare back to what’s important. No blends, no house style, no unnecessary interference. Just single vineyard Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills and Grenache from McLaren Vale, each w**e labelled by the vineyard it came from and nothing else. The place is the point, and everything they do is in service of that.
Behind it all are founders Ansel Ashby and Andrew Williams, two people with deep experience across the w**e industry who handle every part of the business themselves, from selecting the right sites to getting bottles out the door. It’s a proper labour of love.

The Pare team will be in from 5 to pour and chat through the range. 🍷

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm
Two producers. Two very different stories. One great Friday night.

High Eden are in with their small batch Eden Valley Riesling, grown at altitude where cool temperatures and poor soils do all the hard work. When a producer commits to one variety and one region, you know they mean business. One taste and you’ll get it.
Then there’s Anarchy W**es, a Barossa project that started over a few drinks between two mates who thought the w**e world needed a good shake up. Bold, small batch, gut feel w**emaking with no rulebook in sight. Exactly the kind of thing we love having on the shelf.

Both teams will be in from 5 to pour, chat, and probably have a pretty good time doing it. Come join us. 🍷

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm

This Friday we’re joined by Tierra del Puerco from Lienert Vineyards 🐖

Brothers John and James Lienert farm their family property on the western edge of the Barossa Valley. John looks after the vines, James makes the w**e, and together they’ve built one of the more quietly impressive small operations in the Barossa. The farming is regenerative, the approach is thoughtful, and the commitment to the land is obvious in every bottle.

Tierra del Puerco, which loosely translates to “land of the pig,” is their small batch label, a nod to the family’s proud history of pig farming on the same property. It sounds quirky, and it is, but the w**es are anything but. Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Malbec and a gorgeous Rosé, all made with real care and a lot of personality.

Come in for free tastings of some seriously delicious w**e from 5pm. 🍷

When you buy from a producer like this, you’re supporting a family, a piece of land, and a story that’s been in the making for generations. That’s what we’re here for ♥️

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm
This Friday we’re joined by Dewey Station W**es, a boutique Barossa husband and wife operation that’s as much about good times as it is about great w**e.

Stefan and Ellie Dewey started Dewey Station with a clear philosophy — w**e should be about family, fun, food and friendship. The name itself is a nod to generations of family history on England’s railway lines, and that sense of heritage and connection runs through everything they make. Stefan’s deep fascination with the Barossa’s soils and individual vineyard sites drives the w**emaking, with a minimal intervention approach that lets the fruit and the land speak for themselves.

The result is a range that manages to be both approachable and seriously well made. W**es that are genuinely enjoyable to drink and even more enjoyable to share.
The Dewey Station team will be in from 5 to pour and chat through the range. 🍷

When you buy from a producer like Dewey Station, you’re not just buying a bottle of w**e. You’re backing the people who made it, the land it came from, and everything they put into it.

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm

This week we’re joined by Rusden W**es, and if you want to talk about Barossa Valley heritage, it doesn’t get much more real than this.

The Canute family have been growing grapes in Vine Vale for seven generations. The same 40 acres, the same deep white sand over red clay, tended by hand the same way it’s always been done. That kind of continuity is rare, and you can taste it in the w**es.

W**emaker Christian Canute has taken everything his family built and pushed it further, producing a range that is bold and distinctly Barossa without ever feeling overdone. Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Zinfandel, Cabernet — w**es with real depth, structure and a sense of place that only comes from knowing a piece of land very, very well.

The Rusden team will be in from 5 to pour and chat through the range. 🍷

When you buy from a producer like Rusden, you’re not just buying a bottle of w**e. You’re supporting a family, a piece of land, and a story that’s been in the making for generations.

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars — 5 to 8pm

This Friday we’re welcoming Franklie W**es, a proudly South Australian label with a simple philosophy; w**e made with love, to love.

No fuss, no pretension. Just well made, approachable w**es sourced from quality South Australian regions including the Adelaide Hills, Currency Creek and the Southern Fleurieu. The kind of w**es that are easy to enjoy and even easier to share.
It’s a good reminder that great w**e doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it just has to taste good and feel right for the moment.

The Franklie team will be in from 5 to pour and chat through the range. 🍷

This is exactly the kind of producer we built Bowden Cellars around. Small, independent, South Australian, and making w**e for all the right reasons ♥️

🍷 Friday W**e Tasting @ Bowden Cellars feat. Price’s W**e…..5 to 8pm

Everything Price’s make comes from a single 40-acre McLaren Vale vineyard, farmed by the family and shaped by coastal hills, maritime air and ancient siltstone sitting just beneath shallow topsoil. Their vines are over 50 years old, their releases are small batch, and nothing goes out the door before it’s ready. Each w**e is even labelled by the block it came from, because for them, place is everything.

There’s a real discipline to the way they work. No shortcuts, no excess. Just old vines, a piece of land they know inside out, and w**es that reflect exactly that.

This is exactly the kind of producer we built Bowden Cellars around. Small, independent, South Australian, and making w**e for all the right reasons. Come say hi 👋🏼 from 5pm 🍷
