🎃🏆 THE RESULTS ARE IN! 🏆🎃

After a week of speculation, secret recipes, bold claims, undercover investigations and plenty of friendly smack talk, the judges have spoken in the 2026 Great Pumpkin Scone Off! At the Bowen Pastoral Agricultural show.

🥇 1st Place – Chris Dalton
🥈 2nd Place – Stackelroth Farms
🏅 Highly Commended – The Starfish Crew from Kidz at the Beach

Congratulations Chris! It turns out all those years of quietly participating in the Pumpkin Scone Off may have been part of a long-term strategy. 😆

The best part? All three place-getters used pumpkin donated by Stackelroth Farms, proving that great pumpkins are only part of the recipe!

Chris has already suggested that next year all competitors receive a segment from the exact same pumpkin. We suspect she's feeling pretty confident after taking home the trophy this year! 😉
While the results are fun, the real winner is the community spirit behind it all.

The excitement from the Starfish kids, the banter, the anticipation, and the conversations throughout the week are what make this competition so special.

Over the coming days, Chris and the Stackelroth team will be paying a visit to the Starfish crew so they can grill the champion and see if they can uncover her secret weapon before next year's showdown. 🔎🎃

Thank you to everyone who followed along, liked, commented and messaged us throughout the week asking for updates and chasing the results. We loved every minute of it.

🎃🏆 THIS IS IT... THE GREAT PUMPKIN SCONE OFF GRAND FINAL! 🏆🎃

After weeks of smack talk, secret recipes, undercover investigations and more confidence than either team probably deserves, the entries are officially in for the 2026
Bowen Pastoral Agricultural Show.

Farmer Belinda stopped by the pavilion to make sure the Stackelroth Farms entry had been submitted.... While we managed to spring Anna from Kidz at the Beach dropping off the Starfish team's closely guarded masterpiece. 👀

Despite our best efforts, neither side was willing to reveal their secret ingredients. The rivalry remains strong.
We also spotted some of the local kids dropping off their own show entries and even found a few remaining sunflowers in the paddock to sneak into the flower section. 🌻

Now comes the hard part... waiting.

Tomorrow the judges will decide who earns the ultimate bragging rights for another year.

Will it be the Starfish kids and their mysterious secret weapon? Or will Stackelroth Farms bring home the glory?

Whatever happens, it's been an absolute blast. Good luck Team Starfish... you're going to need it! 😘🤣

🕵️‍♂️🎃 PUMPKIN SCONE OFF INVESTIGATION UPDATE 🎃🕵️‍♂️

We headed to Kidz at the Beach on a top-secret mission... to uncover the Starfish kids' secret pumpkin scone recipe before show day. 👀

Unfortunately, these kids are good. Very good.

Every question we asked was met with suspicious smiles, mysterious answers and enough red herrings to throw us completely off the scent.

We left with more questions than answers and absolutely no clue what their secret weapon might be! 😂

Truth be told, this is the part of the competition we love most.

The kids throw themselves into it, the friendly banter ramps up, and the excitement builds as everyone counts down to judging day.

Win, lose or draw, seeing the kids so engaged, creative and invested in a bit of good old-fashioned community fun is what it's all about. 💚

So, who do you think is hiding the better recipe... Team Starfish or Team Stackelroth Farms? 🏆🎃

📣UPDATE FROM THE GREAT PUMPKIN SCONE OFF

With the challenge officially underway, the Stackelroth Farms team has entered the kitchen and the pumpkin scone production line was in full swing overnight👩‍🍳👩‍🌾

We've mixed, measured, baked and taste-tested... purely for quality control purposes of course. 😏

Meanwhile, we're hearing whispers that the kids from Kidz at the Beach are working on their own secret recipe. Rumour has it they're confident. Very confident. Maybe a little too confident... 😂
The best thing about this friendly rivalry isn't who takes home the bragging rights at the show. It's the fun, excitement and banter with the Starfish kids.

🚨After a three-year break, one of Bowen's fiercest rivalries has returned... 🚨

The Great Pumpkin Scone Off! 🎃

Last week we delivered a pumpkin to the Starfish Kindy kids from Kidz at the Beach and officially kicked off the annual showdown ahead of the 2026 Bowen Pastoral Agricultural Show.

While the pumpkin handover was friendly enough, the 'smack talk' with the kids started almost immediately! 😆

The kids are feeling pretty confident this year and keep telling us they have some secret weapons up their sleeves. We're not sure what they're hiding, but we're a little concerned...

Truth be told, the best part isn't winning or losing. It's the excitement leading up to the show, the laughs, the friendly banter, and seeing the kids so engaged and excited to be part of something special.

One of those beautiful Bowen mornings that makes you stop and appreciate where we live 🌊☀️

While the girls were busy in the stall at the Bowen Community Sunday Markets, I walked out into the ocean to capture the markets from the ocean side.

Looking back at the beach, it was lovely seeing families together, kids exploring the rocks... dogs playing in the water and people simply enjoying the morning.

How lucky are we to have such a vibrant market right beside the ocean 💚 This time of year is just spectacular.

The crew has been flat out harvesting our farm fresh produce for the weekend… medley mix tomatoes, zucchini, green cucumber, apple cucumber, beetroot, eggplant and plenty more straight from the patch 🙌

We’re also excited to have fresh silverbeet & capsicum joining us at the markets this weekend for the first time this season 🌶️🥬 plus you'll find a bargain on our first drop of beautiful local corn 🌽 for 2026...
