There's something to be said for the women who stand beside you while you're trying to build something.
Campground has been a wild three years. Plenty of highs, plenty of lows, a revolving door of chefs, staffing dramas, things breaking at exactly the wrong moment, and more than a few days where Remi and I have looked at each other and wondered what the hell we're doing.
We've been incredibly lucky with so many of the people who've become part of Campground along the way. There are some pretty special humans in this team, and I don't take that for granted.
But Michelle has been beside me through the whole crazy ride.
When you work this closely with someone, there's not much hiding. Michelle can usually tell I'm stressed before I've even admitted it to myself. She's not afraid to tell me when she thinks I'm wrong (quite regularly), and when things go pear-shaped, I know she's got my back.
Somewhere along the way she stopped being just the person who manages our venue and became my work wife.
And now we're about to start building something new together.
Our community project next door is just as much Michelle's baby as mine, and I'm really excited to see where we take it.
Now we just need that bloody building permit! ❤️
