*Kirkliston Mayflower
Striking looks, impressive breeding and a future full of possibilities.
4-year-old black Shire filly | 16.2hh | SHSA #20514
Sire: Kirkliston Heart of Oak
Dam: Ingleside Aria

Jet black and perfectly marked, Mayflower is a filly who catches the eye and then comes over to say hello.

Her pedigree is equally impressive. By Kirkliston Heart of Oak and out of Ingleside Aria, she is a granddaughter of the gorgeous Ingleside Harmony, an outstanding ridden mare. Her breeding reads like a who’s who of imported Shire genetics, including Oakridge Speculator (imp UK), Escrick Extreme (imp UK, by Penhros Braveheart), Walton Supreme (AI UK) and Trelow Father Abraham (imp UK).

Outgoing, friendly and full of personality, Mayflower saves you the trouble of catching her by catching you in the paddock! She leads and loads well and is good to handle, although she can be a little pushy and benefits from clear boundaries. She has excellent feet and has needed relatively little trimming to date.

An active mare, often seen cantering around the paddock, Mayflower has plenty of potential as a ridden horse. At four years old, she is ready to begin her education under saddle or in harness, or to join a breeding program.

We purchased Mayflower as a yearling from her breeders, our good friends Alan and Judy Mayne. While she has not grown tall enough to suit our breeding program, she has plenty to offer someone looking for a beautiful, personable Shire in a more manageable size.

A lovely opportunity to make this striking young Shire your own and shape her next chapter.

SOLD - Ingleside Louisiana

5-Year-Old Black Purebred Shire Mare - Reg SHSA 20500
16.3hh | In Foal to Ingleside Astronomical (Due January 2027)

Rare opportunity to secure a young purebred Shire mare carrying one of the very few Ingleside Astronomical foals available outside the Ingleside breeding program.

Out of one of our great show mares, Ingleside America (who is by Oakridge Speculator and a Moorfield Edward granddaughter) Louisiana is a lovely mare with a kind temperament and quiet nature.

Successfully shown as a young horse, Louisiana is easy to handle in all respects and is a pleasure to have around. She is good to catch, lead, wash, trim, transport and manage, making her an ideal horse for someone looking to enter the Shire breed or add a straightforward mare to their existing program.

Louisiana has been regularly handled by children throughout her life, including at shows, and has always proven sensible and reliable.

She has been broken to long reins and has recently commenced her ridden education. She is naturally a "whoa rather than go" type, with a calm and sensible outlook that makes her well suited to pleasure riding and leisurely outings. She is a quality mover and, with further education, does have the potential to develop into a competitive ridden horse.

Louisiana proved herself an excellent young broodmare this year, delivering her first foal with ease before conceiving again immediately on her foal heat to Ingleside Astronomical. With a January 2027 due date, Louisiana offers immediate value as both a riding and breeding prospect. Astro is retained exclusively as the Ingleside stud stallion and is not available to outside mares, making this a unique opportunity to secure access to his bloodlines.

Whether your interest lies in breeding, showing, riding or driving, Louisiana is a versatile mare with plenty to offer. She is an easy keeper, a proven breeder and a genuine pleasure to handle.

Having recently weaned her foal, Louisiana is now available to a new home. Blessed with a quiet nature, she is the sort of mare that is easy to enjoy and easy to have around. This is a rare opportunity to secure a quality mare and foal package from our Ingleside stud breeding program.

Elite Shire Mare – proven champion & blue-chip broodmare

Ingleside Madeline
(Oakridge Speculator (UK) x Mingara Lady Ebony)
Born 2011

Ingleside Madeline is a mare that stands at the very top of Australian Shire breeding and showing. A multiple Supreme Champion and an outstanding producer, she represents one of the most successful and consistent families in the country.

Her show record is exceptional, with Supreme Shire Horse titles at Sydney Royal, Gatton Heavy Horse Field Days, the Clydesdale & Heavy Horse Festival (Werribee) and the National Heavy Horse Show, among many others. She is a mare that has consistently competed, and won, at the highest level.

Madeline’s pedigree is as strong as it is proven. Her dam, Mingara Lady Ebony, was herself a Sydney Royal Supreme winner, and she is a full sister to successful show horses Ingleside Melinda and Ingleside Miranda. She is also closely related to standout show and ridden horses Ingleside Tuxedo and Ingleside Black Tie; horses that have helped define the modern Australian Shire.

By the UK-imported Oakridge Speculator, a proven sire of quality and consistency in Australia, Madeline is part of a prolific and highly successful line including Ingleside Bright Spark, Snap Shot, Elsa, Anastasia, Remarkable, Charisma, Lucky Chance, Harmony and America; horses that have consistently performed at Royal level across in-hand, under saddle and harness.

As a broodmare, Madeline has more than proven her worth. We have retained some outstanding progeny, including Ingleside Ebony Rose, Supreme Shire at Sydney Royal in 2023/24, further reinforcing the strength and reliability of this family.

Standing close to 18hh, Madeline is a substantial, correct mare with excellent bone, feet, impressive presence, and a quiet, uncomplicated temperament. She is an easy horse to manage in all respects and has been a consistent, reliable breeder.

Offered only as we retain her influence within our own program, this is a rare opportunity to secure a mare of genuine quality, performance and proven production and would be an asset to any serious breeding or showing operation.

Offered empty this season and ready for your stallion of choice, presenting a rare opportunity to secure a mare of this calibre and breed your own future champion.
