It’s that time of year again - pruning time !

Raw or roasted nuts: Does it really matter 🤔? Most people are surprised to learn that they're nutritionally very similar, with only a few small differences.

💡 Roasting nuts has little impact on their energy and fat content. Nuts are naturally high in healthy fats, so when they’re oil-roasted, they absorb very little (if any) extra fat.

💡 A small win for roasted nuts: Roasting removes some of the natural moisture in nuts, resulting in a slightly higher concentration of minerals, compared with raw nuts.

💡 A small win for raw nuts: Levels of some vitamins (such as B-group vitamins and vitamin E, which are heat-sensitive) are slightly reduced in roasted nuts, compared with raw nuts.

💡 But what really matters is . . . Research shows the health benefits of eating nuts apply to both raw and roasted varieties. 🙌

👉 The verdict? Raw and roasted nuts are both healthy. The key is enjoying a 30g handful of nuts every day to reap the benefits.
