🛍️ One of the not so glamorous parts of running accommodation... replacing cookware far to often! 😂🍳

This week we purchased value of almost $2,000 worth of stainless steel cookware sets for our guest studios.

People often ask what gets replaced the most in accommodation, and surprisingly, cookware is right up there.

Over the years we've replaced so many pots and pans multiple times each year. They get scratched with incorrect or metal utensils, burnt, warped from overheating, left soaking for days! It's an unfortunate part of running accommodation business when many don't look after equipment like we would if we went to someone else's property.

After a lot of research, we've decided to start replacing our older cookware with these quality stainless steel Smith + Nobel sets. Hopefully they will be much more durable than non stick and, hopefully, stand up better to everyday holiday cooking and scrubbing.

Our goal has always been simple:
✨ Keep every studio well-equipped.
✨ Replace items before they become tired or worn.
✨ Make sure guests have everything they need to feel at home.

It's one of those behind-the-scenes expenses most people never see, but it's all part of maintaining the standard we want for every stay at Elysian Bridgetown.

Now... let's see if these beauties can survive a heap of breakfasts, family dinners, burnt sausages and the occasional enthusiastic chef! 😄🍝

We can't wait to get them into the studios over the coming weeks as we retire the other sets, might even have to pilfer a set for the house

❤️ FREE PRIVATE ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE IN BRIDGETOWN 3 NIGHTS
At Elysian Bridgetown we regularly make philanthropic donations to support people doing it tough.

This time, we'd like to donate 3 nights of free private accommodation to someone who is genuinely experiencing homelessness as a result of the housing and cost of living crisis.

📅 Available
From tonight (arrival before 9:30pm) or tomorrow after 10:00am, until 10:00am Wednesday morning.

The studio includes:
🏡 Private self-contained accommodation
🛏️ 1 King Bed
🚿 Private bathroom
🍳 Kitchenette
👥 Suitable for up to 2 people (or 3 if sharing one bed)

🐾 Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated in Studio 1 as our pet-friendly studios are currently booked.

Preference will be given to a single parent with up to two children if suitable.

Please only apply if you:
✅ Are genuinely experiencing homelessness.
✅ Have your own transport to Bridgetown.

To be considered, please send me a private message with:
• Your current location
• Who would be staying
• A brief explanation of your situation
• Confirmation that you can arrive before 9:30pm tonight or after 10:00am tomorrow

If there is more than one request, I'll do my best to assist the person or family with the greatest immediate need who contacts me firs

If you know someone who could genuinely benefit from this, please tag them, share this post, or share it into local community groups where it may reach someone who needs it.

❤️ One accommodation provider can't solve Australia's housing crisis. But imagine if hundreds of accommodation providers each donated just a few vacant nights each year.

A room that might otherwise sit empty could become a warm bed, a hot shower, a safe night's sleep and a chance for someone to regroup.

We have a fresh new look! 🌿
After years of the bright yellow feature walls in Apartment 1, we've decided it was time for a change.

Studio 1 at Elysian Bridgetown Accommodation has been completely repainted in Dulux Moorland, a soft, calming green that beautifully complements the natural surroundings of the Blackwood Valley.

The new colour creates a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that feels warm, fresh and connected to nature. We absolutely love how it has transformed the space and we hope you will too.

Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a quiet country escape, a weekend of exploring Bridgetown, or simply somewhere to unwind, we'd love to welcome you.

On the 10th June we lost Beau to bladder cancer 💔
I struggled to write this post because, truthfully, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Some losses take a little longer to find the words for.

Over the last couple of years, Beau became part of the Elysian family. He wasn't our dog by ownership, but he was absolutely an Elysian dog by heart.

He had the gentlest soul. Beau was wonderful with people, kind to every animal on the farm, and had an easy-going nature that made everyone feel at home. Whether he was sitting in the sun, supervising from a couch, wandering around the property, or following Jo on her daily adventures, he was simply part of life here.

Beau had a personality that was impossible not to love. Quiet, loyal, affectionate and always happy just to be near the people he cared about.

Looking through these photos reminds us of the countless ordinary moments that now feel so special. The walks, the easy afternoons, the car rides, the time spent together. Those are the memories that stay with us.

The farm feels a little different without him. His favourite spots are still here, but they're empty now. 💔

Our hearts go out to Jo, who loved him beyond words. We know how much Beau meant to her, and we feel incredibly lucky that we got to share a part of his life and have him become part of ours.

Thank you for everything, Beau.

Deeply loved. Deeply missed. Always remembered. ❤️🐾
