With the long weekend now behind us and winter well and truly here, we are going into hibernation - just temporarily!

Reed & Co. Distillery & Koji Bird Restaurant will be closed until June 24 for our Winter Break.

While the fire will be out during this time, you'll still be able to grab yourself a takeaway bottle of spirits by popping into on weekday mornings, or heading to our online store.

If you're really missing us, you'll be able to find us at Darker Days festival on June 20 - pop by for a cocktail to warm you up!

And we'll be back pouring grilling, distilling, and pouring drinks before you know it (on Wednesday , June 24).

A quick reminder that we're open Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday this King's Birthday Long Weekend.

So whether you're up the mountains enjoying the Ski Season Opening Weekend festivities, or you're enjoying winter in the valley, we'll be here for you at the end of the day (or the middle of it!).

Join us for drinks, tastings and snacks daily from 1pm, or book ahead and spend the evening dining at Koji Bird restaurant.

🔥 If you've experienced Koji Bird before, you'll know our wood-fired oven and grill is synonymous with what we do.

Imparting incredible flavour and aroma to our meals, it also provides a unique vantage point for guests to watch our chefs at work in the open kitchen.

But do you know how the idea for the grill first came about?

When we first opened our venue and were doing all of our distilling on site, we didn't physically have enough electricity to power a kitchen and our distillery - so we custom-designed our solid-state oven and grill and now it’s the heart of our kitchen.

❄️ We put together this little piece last year to help long-weekend visitors to Bright enjoy their stay even though there was no snow on the mountains for 'official' opening weekend.

Days later, it started dumping and we were all skiing by King's Birthday!

Did we taunt the snow gods into making good with the snow? Maybe...
So we figured it was worth another try!

The 'official' start of the Victorian ski season is just days away, and while it might be a little while yet until we're strapping on our boots and heading up the hill, here's some good news for the week ahead...

There's a long weekend coming up and we are OPENING SUNDAY to make the most of it.

So we’ll be open all our normal hours PLUS the King’s Birthday, Sunday June 7, from 1pm till late, so you can stretch the weekend out the way it was intended - slowly, and with something good to eat & drink in your hand.

Drinks, Tastings, Snacks: Tues-Sun from 1pm
Dinner at Koji Bird: Wed-Sun from 1pm

🗓️ Bookings recommended for dinner; feel free to walk-in for drinks.

* We are then closing from June 8-23 for our annual winter staff break but we'll see you all at Darker Days Festival in Bright on June 20.

Koji Bird is open for dinner from 5pm tonight - book now and we'll do the rest.

Choose from our flame-grilled Yakitori Menu or ask for the Set Menu and let us decide for you.

You'll enjoy seven beautiful dishes over three courses, and you can even add a matched cocktail to each course if you want the full experience!

A little heads-up: Koji Bird will be closed to the public for dinner tonight (Friday, May 29) as we are hosting the 'Fork In The Road' progressive dining experience.

We are still open for drinks & tastings in the afternoon, from 1pm-4pm.

Fork In The Road guests will enjoy a four-course progressive meal at four venues around Bright, including Koji Bird, over the course of the evening.

Other venues include Basil's, Tomahawks, and Sir Loin's.

Guests will move through four restaurants over the night, enjoying one course at each location, to help showcase the maturity, creativity and collaborative spirit of Bright's hospitality scene.

We’ll be back grilling and pouring as usual on Saturday - we thank you for understanding, and offer our apologies to anyone hoping to wander in for a drink or a meal tonight.

We're excited to be co-hosting Bright's sold-out 'Fork in the Road' progressive dinner this Friday night.

200 guests. 4 restaurants. 4 courses. Local spirits, wines, cocktails & beers.

Guests will roam between four venues including Koji Bird, Sir Loin's, Basil's and Tomahawks, enjoying one course at each destination.

Hamish, who helped curate the menus for Fork In the Road, will make a special appearance in the Koji Bird kitchen for the event, which celebrates collaboration among our local restaurants, rather than competition.

"People have their favourite restaurant in town, but it's not often you get the opportunity to experience four of Bright's leading venues in one night," he said.

"That's what makes this event so special."
