WHY WE’RE HOLDING OUR GOLF DAY ⛳️🍉

For the past 4 years, we’ve been bringing our fresh fruit and veg over to the islands each week, and along the way we’ve been lucky enough to meet so many amazing customers, businesses and community members who have supported us.

Our Taste by TNT Community Ambrose is our way of bringing everyone together.

We wanted to create a fun day where we can catch up with the people who have helped make our island journey possible, meet some new faces, connect local businesses and simply enjoy a great day together.

And we’re also very proud that the day will be helping us raise funds for Running Wild. 💜

So while there’ll be plenty of golf, laughs, prizes, food and friendly competition, there’s a bigger reason behind it too.

It’s about community, connection, supporting local businesses and giving back.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received over the last four years and we can’t wait to see everyone come together for what we hope becomes a really special day for the islands.

Once they moved from the city, Rocklea became the new fruit and veg home and still a fruiterers playground

Brisbane Markets, (c. 1985)

This photograph from around 1985 records Brisbane's market trade during an important period of change in the city's food-distribution system. Brisbane's central markets had once been concentrated around the inner city, particularly the Roma Street and Turbot Street areas, where enormous quantities of fruit, vegetables and other produce passed through every day. By the 1960s, however, increasing traffic, limited space and the changing requirements of wholesale distribution led to the development of the Rocklea Markets. By the 1980s, Brisbane's markets had become an important part of the suburban commercial landscape while the old central-market environment had largely disappeared. The photograph therefore represents a later chapter in a story that began with Brisbane's nineteenth-century wholesale markets. Markets were not simply places where food was sold—they were major logistical centres connecting Queensland's farms and regional producers with the rapidly growing Brisbane population. Scenes like this preserve an important part of the city's everyday commercial history.
