While it’s technically Winter here in ever-sunny Brisbane that doesn’t mean the bees or us are taking any breaks! They are still going strong, with young hives coming along nicely. We are taking the opportunity during the warm and dry days to build and paint some fresh boxes ready for the impending burst of activity that will accompany the lengthening days after Winter Solstice.

Please enjoy this snapshot in time in the life of a hobby-farmer. Late at night, labelling a fresh order. My poor unmanicured hands still with scraps of paint from the days earlier efforts. We wouldn’t have it any other way 🍯

After many years of faithful service our old honey box has retired and handed the reins to this bright new box.

It was a bit blustery at this site but the girls were in a fine mood. 21 boxes later and we’re all smiles with this haul!
