Dear friends,
It is with some sadness, but also excitement that we would like to announce that Picklehead, in its current form, is winding up.
After 11 years, we feel we’ve got the brand as far as we can, & now it’s time to pass the baton onto someone who either wants a cracking side hustle, or take this baby stratospheric!!
We have decided to cease production for now, but we really hope to see Picklehead keep being the OG Aussie Pickle!!
Picklehead’s been an incredible journey, mostly due to all the beautiful people we’ve met along the way & the strong friendships formed.
We were always amazed that the humble little pickles we started making in our apartment kitchen in Paddo, & first ordered by Asa of Kettle & Tin fame, would end up being loved from Port Douglas to Melbourne.
My most treasured moments were the collaborations with all the chefs, brewers, butchers & bakers. We’ve made beer, sausages, pies, hot sauce, frickles, bbq platters, Reuben’s, burgers, frickles, you name it!
All the pickling classes we held were really fun & satisfying, & I’ll also never forget jumping off the Goodwill bridge for Hear & Say in a pickle suit! (Thanks to Billy in a cow suit!)
I also need to thank my tireless, dedicated, production team of my partner & tiny sidekick Lizzie, Krisztina the Hungarian Powerhouse & Gerry who kept us all young at heart. This team kept me laughing & kept me in line, not an easy job!
The dead set legends, Angelo & Nick at always had our backs & delivered the freshest produce, they never let us down.
Angela at VF+ for definitely going above & beyond to do what she could to keep the Kirby Cukes coming, & for taking on the small guy in those early days, she always strived to get us the best.
And last but certainly not least, everyone that’s ever bought or sold our pickles, thank you! Thank you all for indulging my love of everything pickled, it was an absolute honour & privilege to serve each & everyone of you, I’ll never forget your passion for our product, & ultimately you were all responsible for our success.
As for the future…
