Some pairings don’t need an explanation. Ch*****ne and seafood is one of them. 🥂

Our Ch*****ne & Seafood Dinner brought Members and their Guests together for an evening of exceptional seafood, beautifully paired with Pol Roger Ch*****ne.

A highlight of the evening was welcoming Hubert de Billy, who shared a personal insight into the history, heritage and family legacy behind the celebrated Ch*****ne House.

A wonderful evening of fine food, exceptional Ch*****ne and even better company.

On Thursday evening we celebrated 30 years of The Brisbane Club Music Awards, and it was a night to remember.

More than 200 young musicians have come through the Awards since they began, and many are now performing around the world. This year’s finalists showed exactly why the tradition has lasted. Thank you to each of them for a wonderful evening of music.

Lily Song (violin) was awarded The Brisbane Club Award. The Jim Massie Memorial Award went to Thomas Ferreira-Montague (French horn), presented by Jim’s great-granddaughter Chloe Tomczak, with three generations of the Massie family in the room. Artemii Safonov (piano) received The Member’s Choice Award.

Our thanks to Professor Vanessa Tomlinson and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the Arts Group, and Barbara Nichol of The Pen Shoppe. Most of all, thank you to the Members and Guests who have supported the Awards for three decades. Here’s to the next thirty🎶🥂

One introduction can open a lot of doors.

For Grant Brix, joining The Brisbane Club began with a former President who saw the value in connecting him with people at different stages of their careers and lives.

That first introduction led to Property Lunches, Club events and conversations where ideas were shared openly, perspectives were exchanged and connections formed well beyond business.

Those early experiences have since grown into friendships, mentorships and opportunities that have become an important part of Grant’s journey.

Across generations, each has played a part in guiding the Club, upholding its traditions and stewarding it for those who would follow.

These photographs capture just a handful of those who have served, some drawn from the archives and others pictured at the Club today. Together, they offer a glimpse into the Club’s long tradition of leadership, service and continuity.

Behind every plate served at The Brisbane Club is a craft built over years.

For generations, our Culinary Brigade has been part of the fabric of Club life. From daily service in the Members’ Dining Room to grand dinners, intimate Cellar evenings and menus created for some of the Club’s most significant occasions, theirs is a craft Members experience every time they sit down at the table.

Behind each plate are hours that often go unseen. Produce selected with care. Techniques refined over years. Menus considered and reconsidered. Knowledge passed between chefs, and a new generation learning their craft alongside those who came before them.

The dishes may change. The chefs and seasons do too. What endures is a commitment to doing things properly.

Today, under Executive Chef Matthew Wynn, that tradition continues with a Brigade that brings skill, creativity and extraordinary attention to detail to the kitchen every day.

The finished plate is what Members see. The craftsmanship behind it is what makes it distinctly The Brisbane Club.
