Chaozhou comfort food that deserves more attention in Sydney 🥢✨

📍This is Fuji Rice Roll in Dixon FoodieVerse

If you’re craving something a little different, Fuji Rice Rolls is serving up authentic Chaozhou-style rice rolls alongside a whole spread of comforting dishes 🤤

The Steamed Prawn & Beef Rice Rolls were a standout for me delicate, silky rice sheets wrapped around juicy prawns and beef, finished with a savoury umami soy sauce 🦐🥢

Their thin-skinned dumplings are another must-try. Generously packed with filling, soft and delicate, and even better with their house-made chilli garlic sauce 🌶️

But one dish I feel is seriously underrated? 👀
The Braised Pork Knuckle on Rice 🍖🍚 Tender, slow-braised pork with that rich, savoury sauce soaking into the rice… simple, comforting and SO satisfying. Definitely one I’d order again.

We also tried the Sand Ginger Free Range Chicken, which was firm yet juicy with plenty of savoury ginger flavour, before finishing with their refreshing drinks 🥤

If you’re a fan of silky rice rolls, handmade dumplings and hearty Chaozhou comfort food, put Fuji Rice Rolls on your list there’s more here than just rice rolls 🤍

The bánh cuốn I can’t stop thinking about… 🤤🇻🇳

Freshly steamed, soft and silky bánh cuốn made completely from scratch and rolled to order 🙌🏻 you can actually watch them being made right in front of you 😱!

The biggest sign? It was packed with Vietnamese locals 👀🇻🇳

Paired with their smoky charcoal-grilled meats, savoury filling and Vietnamese dipping sauce… such a good combination 😍

There’s something so comforting about a good Hong Kong-style scrambled egg rice and this one really hit the spot 🇭🇰

📍This is Hong Kong Yue Baby located in Burwood

Their Hong Kong-style scrambled eggs with prawns over rice comes with incredibly soft and silky eggs, generous pieces of juicy prawns and a glossy savoury sauce that soaks right into the rice 🍚

Honestly, the kind of comfort meal you’ll be thinking about afterwards 🥹

Also tried their HK Milk Tea with Warm Tang Yuan, Pineapple Bun with Spam & Egg and Salted Egg Tang Yuan such a good little lineup of Hong Kong classics and sweet treats!

📍This is Hectic Feedz located in Sunnybank

From silky-smooth açai loaded with toppings to their Dubai strawberries layered with juicy strawberries + knafeh, Hectic Feedz knows how to make a proper dessert 😮‍💨🙌🏻

And the Dutch pancakes? Made fresh to order and served warm and fluffy 🤤

If you like your desserts loaded, indulgent and worth the calories, save this one for your next Sunnybank sweet fix ✨

The sketchier the restaurant, the better the food… right? 👀😂

Found this hidden gem in Cabramatta serving up probably my favourite spot to get Bún Thịt Nướng, the dish itself isn’t even on the menu 😱, you just have to know to ask for it ✨

Smoky grilled pork patties, prawn cakes, crispy spring rolls, fresh herbs, pickled veggies, peanuts + vermicelli, all soaked in that sweet, tangy fish sauce dressing 🤤

No fancy interiors, no big signs… just a bowl that speaks for itself.
