Don’t forget — Saturday, 29th August, our award-winning Ekka Show Beef will be on display at Arana Tender Cuts Meats!

This is your chance to get your hands on a slice of some of the best beef in Queensland! 🥩🔥

The beef has now been processed, vacuum sealed and is ageing at a controlled 2°C, allowing it to develop maximum tenderness and incredible flavour before the big day.

Every year, Rossco heads to the Ekka to buy some of Queensland’s finest show beef. The cattle are sold at auction and then judged on the quality of the carcass — and we’re proud to bring that award-winning quality straight to our customers.

ARANA TENDER CUT MEATS – AWARD-WINNING BUTCHER SHOP! 🏆

It’s getting to that time of year again, everyone!

Last year, we were incredibly proud to take home 1st place for the Best Traditional Pork Sausage in Queensland! 🥇🐷 It’s been a huge honour being able to say that we make an award-winning Queensland pork sausage.

On 12 September, Rossco and the team will be heading to the Australian Meat Industry Awards Night to defend our title — and we’re confident we can bring home some more GOLD! 🏆

This year’s sausage entries are:

🌶️ Texas Chilli, Jalapeño & Mozzarella
🥓 Lamb, Wood-Smoked Bacon & Maple Syrup

This year is extra special because, for the first time, we’re entering a sausage recipe created by one of our customers! Matty’s Godfather Sausage has been a massive hit in the shop, so we’re giving it a crack against Queensland’s best!

And we’ve got something exciting planned after the competition…

🥩🏆 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN, LADIES & GENTLEMEN! 🏆🥩

I hope you’re ready for it — award-winning Ekka Show Beef is coming back to Arana Tender Cut Meats!

Thanks to our good friends at Nolan’s Meats, we’ve secured two absolutely amazing bodies of beef from this year’s Ekka, including one from the Reserve Champion Junior Led Steer! 🏆🐂

Now the ageing begins. We’ll be giving this beautiful beef around 3 weeks to age before breaking it down and putting it on display.

A huge congratulations to our apprentice Will, who competed in the Apprentice of the Year competition again this year.

Will has come a long way, and we’re incredibly proud of the effort he put in.

During the competition, competitors are required to break down a full side of lamb, a pork side, and a chicken within a strict time limit. They must maximise every cut with minimal waste and create a professional retail display showcasing their skills.

It’s a tough competition that tests speed, precision, product knowledge, and presentation, and Will represented Arana Tender Cut Meats exceptionally well.

Well done, mate. We’re proud of how far you’ve come, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 👏🔪

Arana Tender Cut Meats is looking for a Junior Team Member to join our team for weekend work.

No experience is required – we are happy to train the right person!

The role will include:
✅ Serving customers
✅ Cleaning and maintaining the shop
✅ Making sausages and other products
✅ General shop duties

We are looking for someone who is:
✔ Well presented
✔ Friendly and reliable
✔ Willing to learn
✔ Able to work well in a team
✔ Keen to get stuck in and have a go

This is a great opportunity for a young person looking for their first job and wanting to learn new skills in a fun and friendly environment.

These are premium quality rib fillets that normally sell for a lot more, so this is a special you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re looking to cut your own steaks or have one of our friendly team slice it for you, we’ve got you covered.

These premium quality rib fillets are all 3kg and under, making them perfect for the freezer, family BBQs, or cutting your own steaks at home.

To put it into perspective, these normally sell for $65.99kg whole or $79.99kg sliced in our display window. At $29.99kg, this is incredible value on one of the most tender and sought-after cuts of beef available.
