Our Farmers Choice Meats family would like to extend a big congratulations to Ella Cannon (Karla’s daughter) on her fantastic results yesterday at Glen Innes!

Ella took out Junior Paraders and went on to win Reserve Champion Parader in a large and highly competitive field. She followed this up with an impressive third place in Junior Judging, a brilliant all-round performance.

A heartfelt thank you and well done to Katie, who helped prep and support Ella for the events.

Our steer Jett had a massive day and was absolutely exhausted by the end, but Ella handled him beautifully and showed great poise and skill in the ring.

Well done, gorgeous girl, we’re all so proud of you!

The NLIS Database Uplift Project have engaged with hundreds of stakeholders from across the Australian Red Meat industry to ensure we are delivering on what users need from an uplifted NLIS database.

Through this engagement, the voice of our customer became clear. NLIS users told us they want:

✅ A more user-friendly interface
✅ The same core purpose of the current NLIS but easier and quicker to use
✅ More support and training
✅ Easier integration with other systems

So that’s what we’re working to deliver!

Mick's Meat Barn and Farmers Choice Meats are auctioning a Mini Hereford Steer at the Royal Queensland Show, with 100% of proceeds going to Farm Angels, a charity helping Aussie farmers through tough times.

🌱 Registered Hereford Steer Born and raised in NW Tasmania
🚛 Prepped for show by the Stenzel family in QLD
⚖️ Expected to dress ~180kg
📅 Auction: Wednesday, August 6th at the Brisbane Showgrounds
