Hot for Chocolate

Our little hot chocolate experiment has been a blast to say the least. It was a dive into the deep end and immediately became the adventure we expected - with the 3am starts in a new community of friendly, hard working market traders. We were all up before the crows but still after the poor bakers. It really makes you think who else is up at that mad hour? There were some oopsies but plenty of woohoos especially when we recognised the same faces returning to our stall, like lovely Emily here in this photo. Thank you Emily and dear ones who validated our efforts, that is the biggest win of all. We knew we were pushing our luck with end of season and the warming temperature have indeed caught us so hot chocolate has been put ‘on ice’ so to speak. Thank you for being brilliant giving us a chance! Summer brews are being tested in the home lab as we speak. Stay tuned. PS.That is hot chocolate on my nose. 🤣 ☕️

New ventures take you to places you’d never expect every single day, some of them completely out of your comfort zone. Sunday I was a shameless town crier, spruking hot chocolates to anyone who would listen. Today it’s the local strawberry vendor. What next? 🤣 ☕️

At the Nundah Markets on Sunday we were so happy to put a smile on Andy’s face with Toby’s delicious Italian style hot chocolate and many other customers, some who returned for seconds. Did we sell out? No. Did we meet targets? No - way off. Did we make a profit? No. Unfortunately not, selling about 70 cups. Did we have fun? Absolutely! Did we learn a lot? Hell yeah! Are we going to give it another crack? Of course - we don’t give up that easily and we have plenty of tweaks to implement. But where were YOU? ☺️ Come down and allow us to put a smile on your face and warm your cockles with our liquid delicacy. It’s pure happiness in a cup. Come sip, dip and savour at the Nundah Markets this Sunday 6am to 12pm while you pick up your fresh fruit and veges the old fashioned way with the delightful people of Brisbane Northside. ☕️

Isn’t it the little things that make your week that little bit smoother and put a smile on your face?! For us here at ‘Hot for Chocolate’ waking up to find our milk fairies at Norco Milk not only delivered our dairy before the sun was up, but also carefully stacked it in our fridge! We love our Australian milk owned by Australian farmers. Thank you Norco for putting a smile on our face and making the milk part of our business so easy. Do you have a work fairy who weaves ae magic in your workspace? ☕️

When life serves you lemons, make pancakes and coffee on milk! An oversupply of strawberries, chocolate, cream and milk has an upside. Tonight’s ‘Street Feast’ at Redcliffe has been cancelled due to poor weather. Happy Sunday everyone. 😍
