Long weekends are meant for slow afternoons and good food.

We are opening the cellar door this Friday through Sunday, from 10am to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday is dedicated to our handcrafted Al Pala boards. We let the dough ferment quietly for 48 hours to get the texture just right. You have two simple choices: mortadella, stracciatella and pistachio pesto, or sopressa with ricotta.

Take a seat tucked away in our beautiful blue gum cabin, or on the deck overlooking the vineyard and mountain range. Pour a glass of award-winning wine, take in the views and enjoy a relaxed experience.

It is just steady, real hospitality.

The boards are available on Saturday and Sunday only, and pre-orders are essential. Call 0408 098 596 to secure your order.

On Friday, July 10th, we are taking a seat at the table for the Beyond the Pour dinner at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. This is the dinner that officially kicks off the Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival the following day.

Three local chefs are taking over the kitchen. Matt Dillow from the Deck Cafe, Gather Executive Chef Ran Kimelfeld, and Frank Fawkner from EXP are collaborating on a menu of seasonal plates. Brenden Robnik is hosting the room, bringing his completely down-to-earth take on wine.

It is going to be an engaging night, and we are looking forward to pouring a few of our minimal-intervention wines to match. A proper menu like this is actually worth arriving early for.

The colour usually stops people before they even take a sip.

Completing our first look at the 2026 vintage, the Estate Grown Rosé is now back on the tasting list. We gathered the fruit from our own vines at the end of January, right as the ripening reached that sweet spot of strawberry and Gala apple.

It’s a simple wine in the best way, bright, real and elegantly perfumed with white florals. There’s a steady texture here that keeps everything balanced. It’s exactly what we want to be drinking while the sun sets behind the Yellow Rock escarpment.

It’s the final piece of our early 2026 releases, and it’s a good one.

On July 10th, we are heading down the road to Rydges Resort Hunter Valley for the annual Beyond the Pour dinner.

This is the annual pre-festival experience that really sets the tone on the eve of the Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival. There is a specific kind of energy when local hands collaborate over matched wines and seasonal plates. This year, Matt Dillow from The Deck Cafe Lovedale and Gartelmann Wines joins Gather Executive Chef Ran Kimelfeld and Frank Fawkner of EXP. restaurant. Brenden Robnik (Wine Animal) is hosting, bringing his completely down-to-earth take on wine to the room.

We are looking forward to pouring a few of our own.

The evening includes a curated four-course menu with matched wines. Tickets are available through Rydges Resort Hunter Valley.

There’s a specific precision to Hunter Semillon that never gets old.

Our 2026 Semillon was handpicked toward the end of January. While the days were warm, the cool nights helped maintain that essential line and precision we look for.

You’ll find lime sorbet and lemongrass here, but there’s also a subtle oatmeal note that adds a bit of unexpected texture to the palate. It’s mouth watering and lean, reflecting the purity of the terroir Chris and the team work so hard to preserve. A quiet, honest expression of a settled growing season.

We were in the vineyard by daybreak on the 12th of January.

The first of the 2026 vintage is finally bottled and sitting on the shelves in Broke. It was a season defined by healthy winter rain and a steady, dry ripening period.

Because of those mild Broke Fordwich nights, the acidity in this Verdelho stayed crisp while the flavours moved into white peach and pineapple. We aged it simply in stainless steel to keep that clarity. It’s a textural wine, bright citrus zest on the nose with a bit of passionfruit on the finish.

It’s a quiet, honest start to the new vintage, and it’s finally ready to pour.

A road trip for those who want Mother’s Day to feel real and steady, tucked away from the usual Sunday crowds.

We appreciate the 5-star Halliday rating, but we’re more interested in the way the light hits the floorboards of our blue gum cabin while you’re sharing a bottle. You might sit for a Reserve Tasting to compare the characteristics of our estate fruit, or spend a long afternoon over a Ploughman’s lunch and handcrafted truffles overlooking the vines.

It’s about the textures and the time spent.

We are still taking this in! 🏅

Word reached us from London this morning. Our 2024 Petra Stella Cabernet Sauvignon just picked up a Gold Medal at the London Wine Competition. This follows the Silver our 2023 Shiraz received last year, which tells us we are on a steady path.

While our home is here in Broke Fordwich, we specifically look to Mudgee for this fruit to showcase the distinct character of that region. After two years in French oak, the result is a wine with concentrated dark fruit and a lingering warmth.

We don't chase medals, but it feels good when the quiet, minimal-intervention work we do translates so clearly to the glass.
