Churchview Estate is a boutique, family-owned winery crafting beautiful organic wines from their stunning estate in Western Australia. Set on gravelly loam soils with north-facing slopes and access to pristine water, the 100-hectare property is home to 56 hectares of vines and an impressive 16 grape varieties. Every bottle reflects the unique character of this special place.

Working with people like the team behind Welland Wines allows us to share not only exceptional wines, but the stories, history and passion behind every bottle.

The roots of Welland stretch back to the Krieg family, German settlers who arrived in the Barossa in 1847 and became one of the region’s founding families. More than a century later, the historic Welland vineyard continues to thrive through its remarkable century-old Shiraz vines.

In a region famous for some of the oldest surviving vines in the world, these rare old vines are irreplaceable. Naturally producing low yields and intensely concentrated fruit, they are responsible for wines with incredible depth, character and a true sense of place.

But what makes Welland truly special is the combination of people, history and old vines - a Barossa story that began more than 100 years ago and continues today thanks to those determined to protect and preserve it for future generations.

And now, we’re proud to share that story with Europe ❤️

While officially unveiled in 2019, the Varney story started long before that — over a decade ago — when winemaker Alan Varney began crafting wines from some of his favourite vineyards across McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills.

After years working with respected wineries in Australia and abroad, Alan built Varney Wines into a family-run label founded on exceptional fruit, trusted grower relationships, and a deep respect for the land.

Today, Varney Wines calls a beautifully restored 1870s limestone barn and environmentally conscious winery home — an iconic destination at the Gateway to McLaren Vale.
