On Sunday when my mate came to visit, she lugged some very fine, home grown Grapefruit all the way from her neighbour's garden!

I had been contemplating a new flavour combo...creating something new for the incoming NAIDOC Week & once I got a load of the Grapefruit, the other shoe dropped & I knew it in my heart.

A little test run of the flavour pairings...Grapefruit, Blackberry & Native Thyme Yoghurt Bliss Cake this Friday & Saturday!

And a good measure of Madagascan Vanilla to boot!

I can't wait for you to try it!

Harking back to the days where a biscuit was all about the crunch! With the nutty flavour from both stars - Caramelised White Chocolate Chips & the toasty Aussie Walnuts, it begged for a sprinkle of Red Gum Smoked Salt.

Baking, prepping, order fulfillment, creating, scheming, packing, cleaning, a little more cleaning, some paperwork & driving!

Yesterday, one of my besties & I, went to the movies to see Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic! And we were both catapulted right back to 1981! Oh my goodness, what a trip down memory lane it was!

It is quite amazing how music & lyrics can envoke the memories of their time. Food & aromas can do that too!

And I think that is why I do so many family recipes & old school yum-yums! It reminds me of the love that we had as a family.

A time when you & your cousins got to hang out all together & eat & play, play & eat, or when Nan would cover your entire birthday cake in whipped cream - I can not whip cream & not remember Nan! Aunty Thele's Buttermilk Scones! Or the beautiful softness of Gran's hands as she read you a bed time story...all of it! Mum's Sticky Date Pudding or Chocolate Mousse! The hand made jams, the crochet'd blankets, the knitted (& itchy) jumpers.

A time when time was taken to make things from sctach. Everyone brought a plate & in my minds eye I can still see that the dinner table looked lime a veritable buffet!

So for today, at least I am hanging out with 13 year old Kiki as MJ's songs play on repeat in my head! 🕺💕 (hee hee)

"That Cake was absolutely wicked" & to "That was the best Cake you've ever done" to then "You ruined it" (without even tasting it I might add!)!
