e Broome pearling fleet and the first 'ho**ah' divers to the industry. Lyndon Brown was also the first non-Japanese person to successfully master the art and science of the cultured Australian pearl. Today, Cygnet Bay is one of only three remaining commercial pearl farms in WA, and is in its third generation of ownership and operation by the Brown family. Our pearling crew works year round to ensure the best conditions for our Pinctada Maxima shell, culminating in our annual pearl harvest. Of the countless beautiful Broome pearls harvested over the past 50 years, one in particular stands out - the world's largest fine quality round pearl, measuring in at 22.24mm in diameter and harvested at Cygnet Bay in 2004. This is a once in a lifetime achievement for a pearl farmer, and the pearl remains in the Brown family's private collection, on display in the Cygnet Bay Pearls showroom in Broome.
