Seeking leading hand and experienced station hand for the 2026 season.

Anna Plains Station is located on the Eighty Mile beach, 250km south of Broome.

Leading Hand Role:
The applicant must have a minimum of three years of experience in livestock production. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career or for someone with previous leadership experience. You will report to a Head Stockman and Managers.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Low stress livestock handling experience with a high regard for animal welfare
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to complete all aspects of station work including but not limited to:
- Mustering
- Fencing
- Infrastructure development
- Weaner education
- Water maintenance
- Sound record keeping- recording cattle numbers and movements
- Machinery use eg. Tractor, Bobcat etc.
- To be organised, tidy, motivated and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and good decision making skills

Must haves:
- Valid Drivers licence
- Physically fit and capable for station work
- Ability to lead and supervise a team
- Minimum 3 years experience in livestock operations

Job Benefits:
- Full time position
- Opportunity to obtain further license such as MC, forklift etc.

Experienced Station hand position:
The applicant must have at least one year’s experience in cattle station operations (2 years will be looked upon favourably).

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Low stress livestock handling techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to complete:
- Animal Husbandry skills
- Fencing
- General repair and Maintenance
- Water maintenance
- Basic machinery use eg. Tractors, Bobcat

Must haves:
- Valid Drivers license
- Physically fit and capable of station work
- Minimum one years experience working on a cattle station.

Emergency Preparedness Officer
Contract term - 18 months to June 2025

The KPCA Emergency Preparedness Officer will work alongside the KPCA’s dedicated Biosecurity Officer to build industry capability and capacity for the management of emergencies including biosecurity, fire, natural hazards and supply or demand.

You will work directly with primary producers, both individually and in a group or workshop environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of industry readiness for emergencies and providing tangible assistance to our pastoralists.

You will collaborate with other KPCA staff and other agencies to provide a holistic approach to the issues.
You will have multiple opportunities for professional development and be a part of a great team during an exciting time in northern agriculture.A part-time role may be considered for the right candidate.
