From October 1st all businesses will no longer be allowed to charge card processing fees. Just another kick in the guts for small businesses.. This means the fees the banks charge our business we will have to absorb. 😔
At the Buchan General Store & Post Office, we’re a small, locally owned family-run business, and those little transaction fees quickly add up.

💵 CASH IS KING 👑

Cash will always be our preferred payment. It means more of the money you spend with us stays local- helping us keep our doors open, employ locally and give back to the community that supports us.
We’re proud to support and sponsor our local sporting clubs,, community groups, events and fundraisers. When you support us, you’re helping us support them too.
Cards are still welcome — we’re simply asking our customers to consider using cash when they can.
☆No Cash!! We have bank@post services 7 days a week.
☆ Small businesses need local support more than ever. Every little bit makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting our family, our store and our little town.

❤️ TONIGHT AT THE BUCHAN CAVES HOTEL

Hey Legends, there’s plenty happening tonight — but this week’s Community Raffle is for something particularly close to our hearts.

On Boxing Day 2023, Tina and Andrew tragically lost their lives in the flash flood here in Buchan while holidaying in our beautiful town. Two young lives cut far too short, in circumstances that touched the whole community.

Tonight, funds raised through our Community Raffle will go towards creating a memorial plaque beside the Buchan River, in honour of Tina and Andrew, and as a lasting acknowledgement for their families and the lives forever changed that day. ❤️

So come along, grab a raffle ticket and help us create something small but meaningful in their memory.

There’s plenty happening around it:
🎟️ Community Raffle – 7pm
🏉 Footy Tipping Winners announced after the raffle
🃏 Joker Poker – 5pm, 7.30pm & 8pm
💰 A whopping $1,400 JACKPOT!

Come down, have a drink, have a meal, buy a raffle ticket and be part of a good old-fashioned community night with a very worthwhile purpose.

See you tonight, Legends.
