Berwick Alpaca Show — a reminder of why alpaca shows matter.
These gatherings are more than ribbons and results; they’re where breeders connect, learn, benchmark progress, and celebrate the animals that carry our collective vision forward. Supporting alpaca shows by attending — whether as exhibitors, volunteers, or spectators — helps sustain the culture and momentum of our industry.

The Accoyo Legacy & Accoyo Genesis show team left Berwick feeling both grateful and proud. Our results included:
Reserve Champion Junior Male
Champion & Reserve Champion Adult Male
Champion Mature Male
Supreme Champion Huacaya
Full Results below.

We were especially touched by the judges’ comments noting that our older males are production sires carrying commercial fleece. That observation holds deep meaning for us. As custodians of the legacy of Don Julio Barreda, we remain committed to the philosophy he lived by — that stud males must meet uncompromising fibre standards.

Don Julio’s vision was famously clear: a herd capable of consistently producing 20 pounds (9kg) of 20 micron fibre, year after year. Following in his footsteps across the oceans, our breeding program continues to prioritise heavy-cutting fleeces — density and length — laid over strong, well-structured frames.

Harmony between frame and fibre was paramount to Don Julio, and it remains central to everything we do.

A special thanks to the first-time Berwick show convenors, Georgia and Jacqueline Bishop, who did a tremendous job bringing the event together, and to the many helpers and exhibitors whose time, energy, and goodwill make these days possible. And thank you to the judges Natasha Clark and Sophie Stacey for their assessment and feedback.
