💛 Happy Grandparents Day!

To my wonderful mum and dad — thank you for being the best grandparents to my kids for 13 years. Irreplaceable doesn't even begin to cover it.

To all of my grandparents — though you are no longer with us, we speak of you often. I love you. I always will.

And my grandad, who I lost last year — you were the one who told me to sell my baking. Simply Kayla’s exists because you believed in me before I believed in myself. I hope I’m making you proud. 💛

Today is bittersweet for a lot of us.

✨ For the lady who is turning 21… again! 😂

Chocolate cupcakes with the most dreamy white chocolate buttercream, topped with gold accents and finished with a sprinkle of edible glitter. Elegant, indulgent and absolutely divine — and I have it on very good authority from the birthday girl herself that they were exactly that. 🤍

I’ll be honest — these are also my personal favourite combination. The white chocolate buttercream on a rich chocolate cupcake is something else entirely. 😍

🎂 When your almost 4 year old nephew points at a magazine and says “that one” — you make that one. 🥰

This little man spotted the Confetti Cake in the Woolworths Fresh magazine and knew exactly what he wanted for his birthday. As his aunty and his baker — how could I say no? 🤍

We went with 3 layers of white mud cake with vanilla buttercream, a rainbow sprinkle border, piped cream rosettes and piled high with fresh raspberries.

Side by side with the magazine inspo — I’ll let you be the judge! ✨

Baking for the people I love most will always be my favourite thing. 🤍
