A day on the farm 🚜

There’s a lot happening in the orchard as we get ready for spring and the next stage of the growing season.

The team have been busy hand pruning, repositioning the irrigation around the root zone and soil profiling ahead of blossom.

You might be wondering what soil profiling actually is... 👀

The soil profiler moves soil and organic matter from the orchard floor back towards the trees, covering roots that have become exposed over time.

It also helps prepare a nice, even area underneath the trees for next season’s harvest. When the macadamias are ready and naturally fall to the ground, having the orchard floor properly prepared helps make harvesting much more efficient.

A lot of work goes into our macadamia trees long before the nuts are ready to enjoy!

And we even had a couple of locals stop by to check on the progress... 🦘🇦🇺

Meet one of our growers - The De Papi Family 💛

Daniel & Rebecca De Papi’s farm has been in their family since the 1950s, when Daniel’s grandparents immigrated from Italy to Australia.

For the De Papi family, Golden Crunch is “such a unique product on the market.” They love being part of a locally owned business that creates a quality product they can trace all the way from their farm to a shop in town.

And it’s not just Daniel and Rebecca who approve, their three young children are big fans too. “Our kids love using the key to crack open the flavoured macadamia nuts. They are very easy to open, even our three-year-old can do it.” ✨
