Not all steaks are made for the frying pan! 🥩

Casserole steak (also known as chuck steak) comes from the shoulder of the animal, which means it does a lot more work than premium grilling cuts.

That extra movement creates incredible beefy flavour, but it also means the meat contains more connective tissue and collagen.
If you throw it on a hot pan for a few minutes, it’ll likely be tough and chewy.

But give it time in a slow-cooked casserole, stew, curry or braise and something magical happens 🤤 The collagen slowly breaks down into gelatin, creating that melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich, silky sauce that makes comfort food so good.

Low and slow is the secret 🤫
