Moo Pa is clearly trying to save himself from the dog house this week, turning on the cuteness factor with a tiny kitten curled up on his shoulder 🐱

When I asked what was on his shoulder, he replied:

"This is Polly the parrot.” 🦜

Honestly, he is such a galah 🫣

Or should I say turkey because his Sunday joke is about to land him in some serious trouble with his mother-in-law, Bearsy.

Moo Pa's Bad Dad Joke:

“I bought my mother-in-law some volume-controlled shampoo last week. But it doesn’t work because I can still hear her!” 😬😂

Oh Moo Pa, you are playing a dangerous game here 👀

Lucky for him, he and Mum give each other just as much cheek as they get.

But with Mother’s Day next Sunday, something tells me he will be doing a lot of grovelling!

I’m thinking a Wagyu BBQ might be the bare minimum to get him back in the good books 🥩

Our weekend has started with a quick trip into Chinchilla Pet Shop to spoil two very cute new arrivals. Apparently a “26-year wedding anniversary gift” from Moo Pa and yes, he’s sticking to that story 🤠🐱🐱

After a chat with the fabulous team at the Chinchiila Pet Shop the next thing you know, we’re being let in on one of Chinchilla’s best-kept secrets 👀

Tucked away on Mayne Street is Candy Kiss Confectionery. And unless someone tells you about it, you’d never know it was there.

Moo Pa highly recommends the toffee and caramel ice-cream. His overall rating: 10/10.

Between kitten cuddles and ice cream smiles, you'd say Moo Pa’s had a pretty satisfying Saturday morning 😄

If you’re local in Chinchilla, go find the confectionary shop. And if you’re visiting Chinny, it's worth the little treasure hunt.

Sometimes the best things in life are the ones tucked just out of sight 💛

This ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who have served.

At Kireina Wagyu, the day also holds deep personal significance. The handsome young man in the photo is Moo Pa’s grandfather, Private Thomas Dorrett. Grandad served at Fort Bribie during World War II, and saw active service in Papua New Guinea and the Torres Strait.

The beautiful young lady is Moo Pa’s grandmother, and the love of Grandad’s life, his wife Doreen. Grandma also served her country as a civilian in communications, playing her own vital role in the war effort.

Their quiet strength, dedication, and commitment to serve live on through their legacy, their love, and our family.

Today, we remember them, along with all who have served, and those who continue to serve our great country.

Lest we forget. 🌺

Gee Gee Ma may have had a slight fangirl moment this week 🤭🐮

We had an impromptu overnight visit from some pretty incredible cattle minds. Keith Hammond from Robbins Island Wagyu in Tasmania, and Charlie Unchuan & Rogelio Acosta from Umalag Farms in the Philippines.

What started as a quick “we’re in the area” turned into one of those special farm visit. The kind where time disappears, the conversations flow, and you’re reminded just how connected the Wagyu industry really is.

We walked, we talked, we looked at cattle, and shared how we’re utilising Akaushi genetics in our Wagyu program here at Kireina Wagyu ❤️

Different States. Different countries. Different systems. Same passion for good cattle, great people, and doing things with intent.

And yes, Moo Pa absolutely loved the company too. Whether it was the red wine, the rum, or just genuinely great conversation, we’ll let you decide 😏😂

That’s the Wagyu industry though, isn’t it. It's built on great cattle, strong relationships, and the kind of conversations you never forget 🫶🐮💚

Moo Pa assures us he is currently “not bogged” but temporarily stuck and incapacitated 😏

But nothing slows this man down, not mud, not logic, not even timing. While awaiting his “non-bogged recovery" he delivers his Easter joke 🐰

Today feels like a good day to slow down and just take a breath. There is a lot going on in the world right now. Cost of living pressures, uncertainty, and for many, it can feel a bit heavy.

But here at Kireina Wagyu we’re reminded of something simple.

I’m riding Faith and Moo Pa is on Belacon aka Kitty. Belacon is Kitty's racing name and is short for believe, achieve, conquer. And maybe that’s a little reminder we all need right now.

Because whether you’re religious or not,
having faith in yourself, in your people, in your community and in the path you’re on really matters.

If you can hold onto that you can believe that better days are ahead. And if you stay steady in your mind and strong in your heart you will find a way to conquer whatever’s in front of you.
