Every loaf has a plan.

This one planned on becoming a brisket sandwich.

Thick-cut Jalapeño & Cheese Sourdough.
A mountain of smoked brisket.
Pickles.
Mustard.
Happiness on bread.

Unfortunately most of our customers never make it that far.

The loaf gets attacked while it’s still warm and disappears one chunk at a time.

Calling all Uber drivers, calling all Uber customers. What do we do? 2 bags to seperate the cold and hot? What if it’s just a sausage roll and a coke? 2 huge bags? Or just put it all in together.

🚨 OFFICIAL PUBLIC APOLOGY 🚨

We would like to formally apologise for the Brisket Bennie Pie.

After a recent investigation, we discovered the following:

🥧 Total pie weight: 289g

🥩 Brisket weight: 37g

🍳 One whole egg

🧀 Stretchy melted cheese

🤤 Hollandaise sauce

🥧 Hand-sheeted pastry

🔥 Dark Lord gravy

Unfortunately, this means the brisket only makes up around 13% of the pie.

The remaining 87% has been recklessly filled with things that make Eggs Benedict taste amazing.

For those unfamiliar with the Brisket Bennie, it’s an Eggs Benedict pie featuring smoked brisket. It is not, and has never claimed to be, a pie filled entirely with brisket.

We sincerely apologise to the hundreds of customers who have enjoyed them.

Many have reported symptoms including:

• Ordering a second one
• Bringing friends back to try them
• Becoming emotionally attached to pastry
• Refusing to eat normal breakfast food

Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

Real sourdough. Proper crust. Made the hard way because it tastes better.

Fair warning: once you’ve had your sandwich on a Black Duck High Top, regular bread starts feeling a bit disappointing 😮‍💨

Today is a pretty special day for us.

Not only is it our first day live on Uber Eats, but it also happens to be Queensland Day.

And honestly, we can’t think of a better day to launch.

Blackduck Bakehouse was built right here in Burpengary by Queenslanders, for Queenslanders. Every pie baked, every coffee poured, and every early morning start has been driven by a simple goal: serve our local community the best way we know how.

We’re incredibly proud of our team.

From the juniors learning the ropes to the experienced hands who arrive before sunrise, they work hard, take pride in what they do, and help make Blackduck what it is every day.

We’re also grateful for every customer who has supported us along the way.

Whether you’ve been here since day one or only discovered us recently, you’ve helped a small local bakery continue to grow, try new things, and take the next step.

Today that next step is Uber Eats.

There will probably be a few hiccups.
There might be a wrong button pressed.
Someone will almost certainly be learning on the fly.

But we’re excited, we’re ready, and we’re giving it a crack.

On Queensland Day, it feels like the perfect time to say thank you for supporting local.
