While the first signs of new growth are beginning to appear, there’s plenty happening beneath the surface too. Beds are being prepared, seedlings are growing in the greenhouse and new plants are gradually making their way into the garden.

The Flower Farm follows the seasons, so there’s always a stage of growth to discover. Right now, it’s a garden in preparation, with the promise of plenty more to come.

Nothing goes to waste in the market garden.

As one crop finishes, we mulch it back into the soil, returning organic matter and nutrients to the ground and helping prepare the beds for what comes next.

It’s part of the cycle of growing, harvesting, returning and growing again.

Healthy soil tells a story.

At Burradoo Park Farm, regenerative farming isn't about ticking a box or following a set formula. It's about paying attention to what’s happening beneath our feet and using what we learn to make better decisions.

Since establishing our market garden, we've been testing the soil each year, building a picture of how it changes as the garden grows and the farm evolves.

Because you can't improve what you don't understand.

For us, regenerative farming is a process of curiosity and continual improvement. Observe. Measure. Learn. Adapt.

The goal isn't to have all the answers. It's to keep asking better questions about how we can care for the soil, grow food and build a healthier, more resilient farm.

Some weeks the market garden gives us exactly what we need. Other weeks, it gives us a little more. That's where our Thursday Veggie Stand comes in.

On Thursdays, you'll find a selection of any freshly harvested surplus produce, picked that morning and available to purchase directly from the farm. It's a chance to take home what's in abundance in our market garden, ask questions about what's in season and learn a little more about the crops we're growing.

No two Thursdays will look the same, because that's the beauty of eating seasonally. What you'll find on the stand depends entirely on what's ready to harvest, making every visit a little different. Available until sold out.

Big horns, big hair and plenty of personality.

Our Highland cattle are always a favourite around the farm. There’s something pretty special about watching them go about their day, grazing, wandering and doing what cattle do best.

School holidays are calling for a little creativity.

Garbage School is open every day from 9am until 3pm during these school holidays, where cardboard, recycled materials and a little imagination can become something completely new.

Come along, get creative and see what you can make from things that might otherwise be thrown away. Because sometimes the best ideas start in the recycling bin.

Our Burradoo Park Farm Chicken Bone Broth is made from whole pasture chickens grown here on the farm. No added salt, preservatives or artificial ingredients and slowly simmered for 18 hours.

PLAN AHEAD | COUNCIL RAILWAY ROAD WORKS
Council road works on Railway Road are expected to begin Monday 28 September 2026 and continue through the school holidays.

If you're planning a visit to Burradoo Park Farm, please allow a little extra time for your journey and follow the directions of onsite traffic controllers to help keep traffic moving and ensure a safe entry for everyone.

Everyone loves the piglets. They’re fun to watch, full of personality and always seem to be getting into something.

But there’s more to pigs than being entertaining.

Pigs are natural cultivators. Their instinct to root and forage can help break up compacted soil, clear unwanted vegetation and return nutrients to the soil through their manure. They can also help reduce waste by eating surplus produce and crop residues that might otherwise go to waste.

We don’t farm pigs at Burradoo Park Farm, but the piglets here give us a chance to explore the role pigs can play in regenerative farming systems.

Of course, they need careful management too. Too much rooting in one area can damage soil and vegetation, so thoughtful management is key to balancing their impact with the land’s ability to recover.

So yes, they’re cute. But they’re also a pretty good reminder that on a farm, every animal can have a role to play.
