Dear Ollie,

Today we lost the privilege of having you in our lives. You were truly my best friend, a source of deep comfort, companionship, and unconditional love.

I got you just before my 19th birthday, and you have been with me through one hell of a journey.

You gifted me your enthusiasm for life, your incredible intelligence, and your unwavering loyalty, and of course your absolute obsession with balls. No matter the day, the weather, or how you were feeling, a ball could always bring that spark back into your eyes.

You were never a social butterfly, but the people you chose felt the full strength of your love.
Your biggest gift was perhaps one of the most surprising. Despite your anxiousness and uncertainty with new people, you were amazing with our little girl. So patient, gentle, and understanding.

I am so lucky that I got to be your world.
Today we said goodbye to you, but you will truly live on with us forever. Go chase all the balls, my baby boy.

Love always,
Your human 🤍🐾

Chores are never boring through the eyes of a 2 year old ❤️

A full day in the yards last week drafting every sheep we own. Lambs, ewes and rams all through the shed and yards.

Nothing tests a marriage quite like a day working stock together 😂

The sheep are sorted, the teamwork held up, and there were only a few testy moments along the way.

Quality time done right, we think. ❤️

Once they’re gone, they’re gone 🐔✨

We rehome our lovely Hyline hens when they turn 18 months old, this occurs around every 6 months.  These ladies have spent their lives on pasture, roaming free and foraging all day long. However, as they age, their egg production naturally slows down.

🌊 BREAKING NEWS: Farmers spotted… off farm?! 🚜➡️🏖️

To celebrate our daughter’s 2nd birthday, we escaped for a few beautiful days away… starting with a visit to Werribee Zoo, then heading down the coast to Barwon Heads, something that’s quickly becoming a bit of an annual tradition for us.

Now, let’s be honest… farmers getting away isn’t exactly a casual “pack a bag and go” situation.
It takes military level planning, 47 checklists, and a whole team of people keeping the place running 😂

A massive thank you to our incredible team for holding the fort while we were gone:
🐓 Looking after the chooks
🥚 Collecting eggs
🍼 Feeding the poddy calf
📦 Managing two egg sorts
🚚 Deliveries
🛒 Stocking (and unstocking) the farm gate
💧 Checking water for the sheep and cattle

A mammoth effort, and we are so grateful.
Turns out the farm can survive without us… but only just 😉

P.S. Happy 2nd Birthday to the centre of our world, Miss Lily Grace 🎂🤍

❤️

Thinking of fellow farmers across multiple states today, working tirelessly to cool and protect their animals.

Extreme heat puts everything we work so hard for at risk, not to mention that many of us are either preparing for, currently fighting, or have already faced grass and bush fires.

Farming teaches resilience, but days like this remind us how fragile our systems can be. Sending strength to every farmer, family and volunteer on the ground today and across this ugly week.

Unfortunately, due to persistent theft over the past few days totalling well over $250 worth of eggs and honey, we will no longer be restocking the farm gate at night.

The farm gate will now be restocked each morning.

We truly hope to continue offering our farm gate to the community. We have plans and upgrades we are working towards, and this space relies on honesty and trust. We know the vast majority of people do the right thing, which makes it incredibly disappointing that the actions of a few are making this difficult.

Cameras are now installed and operating.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our family farm and respect the system we have in place 💛

This Saturday Only!

It has been a difficult week for many in our community. With the ladies laying very well at the moment, we currently have a surplus of beautiful 600g eggs and we hate seeing good food go to waste, so we are putting these beautiful fresh eggs to good use by turning them into support for the CFA.

This Saturday from 10am to 1pm, we are teaming up with Kittelty’s Cakes for a once off pop up bake sale at The Unicorn on Sturt Street.

To help move eggs quickly and raise as much as we can for the CFA, prices will be heavily discounted

Trays of 30 eggs $15
2 trays of 30 for $20
A full box of 6 trays for $50

All profits from eggs sold will be donated directly to the CFA to support firefighters and communities affected by the recent fires.

Come by, grab some treats, stock up on fresh local eggs and help us turn a tough week into something positive 🔥🥚

Please like and share to those who might be interested ❤️
