Welcome to the official profile of Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. Our story is long and proud, we’ve evolved from humble beginnings here on our farm, to build a thriving, community focussed brewery. Our aim is simple, to make F*&^ing good beer, using the best local produce, farmed in the best way, with the least environmental impact. We are Australia’s first Certified Sustainable Brewery and committed

to Net Zero emissions from brewing process by 2025

Our farm and brewery take their name from a natural outcrop of Ironstone that runs through the centre of our farm; “Rocky Ridge”, which perfectly sums up our slice of paradise, and ironically sums up the somewhat rocky road that we are on as well. We acknowledge the Wadandi People, traditional custodians of the land on which we work, and acknowledge the elders past, present and emerging.

We are stoked to have the honour of bringing the Smiths Craft Beer House NZIPA Challenge to Australia. We will be showcasing some of Australia and New Zealand’s best IPA’s, with industry panels, tastings and plenty of laughs, join The Crafty Pint and ourselves from 17th - 19th of July at 130 Barkly Street, Brunswick.🍻

DB 2024 | 12-MONTH BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL STOUT | 12.5%

DB 2024, our deeply cherished annual barrel-aged Imperial Stout, returns. This year’s release features locally grown Shiraz grapes, adding a more pronounced red wine tannin structure. To enhance its complexity, we’ve also added extra coffee and cacao during its 12-month rest in wine barrels.

Dusty chocolate and coffee notes provide a rich foundation, layered with vibrant red berries and vinous undertones, complemented by nuanced oak and wine character. Retaining the signature elements that make DB so special, we hope you enjoy this 2024 vintage.

DB 2026 | IMPERIAL STOUT | 12.5%

The longest nights deserve the biggest beers.

As the winter solstice creeps closer, the darkness signals it’s once again time to unleash a new edition of DB. IYKYK this is less a beer and more a sacred ritual for us here at Rocky.

DB day begins with an enormous mill-in featuring our Certified Sustainable local house pilsner malt from Tolga Farms, followed by heritage British Maris Otter, malted oats, double-roasted crystal malt, and chocolate malt, alongside premium German Caramunich and Carafa Special malts. The result is a dense, luxurious base dripping with dark chocolate, espresso crema, burnt caramel, and rich molasses depth.

From there, things escalate quickly. After an extended kettle boil to intensify richness and body, we flood the whirlpool with 200 litres of premium local Sangiovese and Shiraz, bringing layers of dark berry, plum, and subtle vinous warmth into the fold. Brewed across two consecutive days with a second wort addition to push gravity into absurd territory, DB 2026 is then conditioned on coffee, vanilla, and cacao husks for maximum decadence.

Massive, dangerous, and unapologetically overbuilt. This is winter in a glass.

DB 2025 | 9-MONTH BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL STOUT | 12.5%

DB 2025, our deeply cherished annual Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, returns. This year’s release features locally grown Shiraz grapes from our friends at LS Merchants, layered with the unmistakable influence of Settler’s Ridge Port barrels.

An extended 9-month rest, paired with a generous addition of vanilla, has allowed this vintage to evolve into something darker, deeper, and more indulgent than its predecessor. The port barrels bring a fuller, sweeter finish, amplifying rich notes of maraschino cherry, stewed plum, and fortified wine. These sit seamlessly over a base of dusty chocolate and soft vanilla, with vinous depth and warming oak woven throughout.
Retaining the signature elements that make DB so special, this 2025 edition leans lusher, rounder, and more opulent in every sip.

To celebrate World Environment Day this year, we’re proud to bring back (with a new twist) something that represents exactly who we are and what we stand for. The Captain Jindong Series v2! Releasing this Friday, 5th of June - online and at all W.A. venues.
 
A lineup of certified sustainable and certified banging beers brewed with purpose, created to celebrate our ongoing mission to tread as lightly as possible while protecting the planet we all call home. At Rocky Ridge, sustainability isn’t a side project. It’s at the core of everything we do.
 
Here’s what we’re celebrating:

🌱 Diverting 100% of our spent grain from landfill to feed local cattle, preventing over 471 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

🌱 Generating 321,000 kWh of solar energy last year, enough to power every Rocky Ridge staff member’s home while keeping 173 tonnes of CO₂ out of the atmosphere.
 
🌱 Capturing and reusing fermentation CO₂ to carbonate our beer, preventing over 100 tonnes of emissions from being released.
 
🌱 Reducing our total carbon emissions by almost 40% since 2020, while increasing production by more than 230%.

To bring these achievements to life in beer form we’ve brought back our fav green mullet sporting eco legend and his crew.
