Some things about olive oil, you learn best from someone who grew up around it.

Our master harvester Davide comes from an Italian olive-growing tradition, and he says it every season, in that accent that makes it sound like it’s been passed down for generations: the fresher the oil, the better it is. Olive oil isn’t wine — it doesn’t age well, it just ages. That’s why he insists every good bottle carries its harvest year on the label.

It’s a small habit, but it’s an old one. Generations of Italian growers have judged oil this way long before “best by” dates existed on anything.

Kyneton carries that same standard — Australian grown, Italian heritage, picked and bottled with the harvest date front and centre. Because some traditions are worth keeping exactly as they were taught.
