In November 2000 after 18 months of testing, baking and tasting Pam & Martin sold their first Macadamia Mueslis at the local Bangalow markets. Pam created the products and for the first 2 years they baked and packaged in the local bakery, then Martin would load the muesli into the back of his car and sell to local shops & cafe's. The product range grew by popular demand and today all Brookfarm products are made in our own purpose built factory. High quality and attention to detail still lies at the very core of our business. Brookfarm products are sold throughout Australia and exported overseas, including the USA & Europe. We sell to quality food stores and selected cafes and restaurants, resorts, hotels and on board domestic and International airlines. In 2007 Brookfarm won both the Telstra & MYOB Australian Business of the year- the first food manufacturing company to win this prestigious award.

Our inter rows are in bloom! Check out our top orchard, where every second row is divided by inter row planting. What we're endeavouring is an insectary as well as top notch healthy soil, diverse in organic matter - vital for developing a robust and thriving ecosystem, cycling nutrients, carbon sequestering, and water retainment.
Such plant diversity isn't just a visual delight, it's a magnet for a range of pollinators, and beneficial insects, ensuring a natural balance rather than harmful spraying. They also create an abundant food source for reptiles, birds and amphibians, which are then in turn foundation of the food web for other species. Blooming marvellous.

Our Byron Bay Bakehouse and head office has been powered by the sun since 2014 - reducing our carbon footprint and supporting renewables. The 288 solar panels have an east-west orientation to match consumption and make the most of the sun's rays.
The output fits in with our hours of operation, which begins in the early mornings until late afternoon.
For example, with the panels facing east, means the solar panels are producing power before 6am during daylight saving, just as work begins in our Bakehouse.
And with the panels facing west, means we are capturing sun rays when the office is at full capacity or to supply air conditioning for those hot afternoons.
Our passion for sustainability and a lower carbon footprint has been in the design of our Bakehouse from the start.
Interestingly, when the Bakehouse was first built, the roof was designed to support solar panels - but we had to wait five years for technology to catch up - for a commercially viable option to power production!

30 years on, Brookfarm is story of rainforest regeneration, focusing on native trees and plants, and commercial farming practises working together as a biodiverse ecosystem.
The rainforest remnant has been revitalised, hand planted tree by tree - to a self sufficient, thriving, wildlife corridor running through the farm.

Project Zero has launched! Dr Geoff Wilson, Kitale Wilson, and their crew members Jordan and Alistair departed on Sunday via the Gold Coast, Australia onwards to their first stop - New Zealand.
The seven-leg journey will span two years to complete and cover far flung locations such as the Patagonia Ice Cap, the Arctic Circle and the Norwegian archipelago, Svalbard, home to the highest density of polar bears.
From the South Pole to the North Pole, Geoff, his son Kitale, Jordan and Alistair will explore some of the world's most isolated and vulnerable environments, and the impact of global warming on them.
