Some fellow breeders in America are many years ahead of me on their Mille fleur silkie and satins project.
Two wonderful breeders face allowed me to share photos of their birds on my page to help followers see the goals in my breeding program.
Lauren Taylor from Lauren Taylor Chickens is the lady who started it all for me. I saw a picture of one of her project birds many years ago, which drove me to start this project, hoping one day to be able to breed my own birds to become just as good as hers.
Poultry Paradise Rare Breeds & Bantams has bred some amazingly beautiful birds, with one of her Mille fleur silkie project boys pictured below. There are not as many silkie breeders in this project, with satins being preferred for many reason, so to see such a beautiful Mille fleur silkie boy gives me a wonderful idea on what to aim for in my own silkie line.
I am a long way away from the quality these two amazing breeders have reached, but I am hoping to get there one day.
I have been lucky enough to have the guidance and assistance from many other wonderful breeders through the Mille Fleur Satins and Silkies Facebook.
Over the coming days I will be posting my current breeding stock and first batch of babies from this year’s breeding season.
