It's not always smooth sailing at harvest. Cleaning some green radish pods out of Outlaw canola where the pre-em chemical didn't quite do the job due to the average start to the season.
We were expecting this but still annoying when it's the first time the grain cleaner has come out in a long time.

Day 2 of harvest, GriffonCL TT canola. Starting to get back into the swing of things, just waiting on the second header to start.

Desicating canola can only mean one thing.

2 weeks until harvest time 💪
Sadly has come on a bit quicker than planned due to no rainfall for September but fairly happy still with how the crops are finishing, although could have definitely been better with some rainfall.

Sorry it's been a while between posts but it's been pretty busy here.

Here is a photo of Australian Grain Technologies new AH wheat variety, Trigg that we are bulking up for next season for them. Sh***un on the left, Trigg on the right.
Sown on the same day, same rate and nutrition, lupin stubble with only 20units of applied N and around 180 GSR (Nothing for September and some very warm windy days last week).

Very impressive, big heads and more tillers. I think we will be seeding lots ourselves next year. We have about a 3-3.5t yield estimate on this crop at the moment (provided last week's weather didn't touch it up at all).
The seed was massive when we seeded it so hopefully it carries through and is the same come harvest time.

After a 7 hr delay with a completely random bearing failure this morning on the road, finally unloading at dairy. Massive shoutout to Petchells in Wylie for helping out. I didn't have all my gear with me.

This one had us baffled for a while, but thankfully with the help from Chris Wilkins and David stead, we found the little buggers that were happily munching on our crop of triticale (they live below ground😂). Pasture webworm is not very common here this time of year and we've never seen it before.
Even though I don't like using insecticides, sometimes you have to.
Controlled now.

Halfway through the broadleaf/nutrition spray on the cereals. Love being able to fill up like this. Makes it easier.

Been a busy couple weeks, triticale on some poor country up and away nicely. Finally started to get some decent rain for June which the crops are enjoying. Busy spraying, Boekemans been very busy working on the headers, couple more trips to the dairy and the boys been very busy in workshops and tidying up around the place.

Safe to say lupins nodulating quite well with the GreenRhiz peat based innoculant. Can even see the pink stems against the sun. Nice to see the roots punching through that higher aluminium subsoil layer.
