After a 7 hr delay with a completely random bearing failure this morning on the road, finally unloading at dairy. Massive shoutout to Petchells in Wylie for helping out. I didn't have all my gear with me.

Nice afternoon to load up for a run to the dairy tomorrow 💪

This one had us baffled for a while, but thankfully with the help from Chris Wilkins and David stead, we found the little buggers that were happily munching on our crop of triticale (they live below ground😂). Pasture webworm is not very common here this time of year and we've never seen it before.
Even though I don't like using insecticides, sometimes you have to.
Controlled now.

Halfway through the broadleaf/nutrition spray on the cereals. Love being able to fill up like this. Makes it easier.

Been a busy couple weeks, triticale on some poor country up and away nicely. Finally started to get some decent rain for June which the crops are enjoying. Busy spraying, Boekemans been very busy working on the headers, couple more trips to the dairy and the boys been very busy in workshops and tidying up around the place.

Safe to say lupins nodulating quite well with the GreenRhiz peat based innoculant. Can even see the pink stems against the sun. Nice to see the roots punching through that higher aluminium subsoil layer.
Very healthy looking

Things like this is why I love what we do.
Years ago we were told that with our style of low input farming, we would never grow crops in these areas of the paddocks, high aluminium, low pH wodjil country.
When we bought this farm, there was large areas of wodjil sand blowouts that haven't been able to produce crops for a long time. We tried high rates of lime, incorporation etc to not much effect but at a high cost.
We realised that we had to change what we did and approach it differently. We started to no longer spray pre-emergent chemicals (triflurX etc) and started to grow a lot more litmus barley and triticale, we then switched out the lime for liquid lime and products that are highly loaded with carbon based products, kelp, aminos etc, list goes on, but all in liquid forms.
We now grow consistent crop through these areas with pretty much full cover as this zen wheat shows. No longer registering nothing on yield monitors, we actually have yield now.
Achieved through adapting and changing, without aggressive tillage (inverting, delving etc), everything applied at seeding through liquid forms. And followed with foliar traces products.
The turnaround has been amazing.
Excited for the future and what we can do.

Velocity canola not looking too bad for only 65ml growing season rainfall so far and 12 units of applied N so far. Not even really looking like it's lacking anything, very healthy.
Now it's getting a bit of UAN at 40L, Hi-3 Trace, clethodim and atomic to give it a boost and control the grasses.
Then move into some broadleaf spraying early next week.
The boys have been busy finishing the post seeding tidy up and some maintenance.
